It was the article about Wildwood signing off on rezoning 642 acres. The agreement is in the agenda for the meeting but I couldn't find anything changing the current golf cart rules.

On that page is the following near the end of the article:
Another revised agreement approved Monday revises architectural standards and golf cart operations in new Villages neighborhoods.

The Villages is revitalizing Wildwood- the Developer money and the spending of Villagers and our property tax dollars has made Sumter County healthy and wealthy- increased monies for social service programs and building projects. And all this attracts other businesses that also create more jobs, pay more taxes and make Wildwood and Sumter country GREAT!!

Word has it that carts will be required to have self canceling blinkers, a breathalyzer controlled ignition switch, and all electric carts will be accessed a $250 fine every time they run out of juice on a public path or road. That’s what my barber told me while trimming my remaining few hairs.

Geez they may as well make golf carts illegal.

They should charge a fee for gas carts stinking up the tunnels and would get rich!

They do produce noticeable exhaust fumes when towing broken down electric carts.

My barber told me all Villagers riding in a cart will be required to wear a mask and bunny ears. LOL.

I’m going to guess the amendment on golf carts is just a formality, probably nothing earth shattering.
The resolution is on Wildwood’s web site, I just have no interest in reading the whole thing.

The Villages is in the city of Wildwood, Lady Lake and Fruitland Park while other areas are in unincorporated Sumpter, Lake and Marion Counties. I suggest you pay attention.

No worries, all the necessary parts for the upgrades will be available at the new Costco.

Maybe you exaggerate just a little, but personally I like the idea that growth in The Villages is helping our neighboring towns like Wildwood and Coleman, which have probably not changed much since my family would drive thru them in 1950 as we travelled from Eastern Ohio and caught US 301 in South Carolina as we headed down to Fort Myers.

It's pushed out lower-income residents because they can't afford the revitalized properties. It's called gentrification and it creates massive displacement (aka homelessness, here and elsewhere).
More minimum wage jobs doesn't help if you're in a family of 4 living in an apartment building and the rent just went up 50% because the Villages added some flowers to the grassy area across the street.

Do you think your exactly worded posted opinion gets more weight when you repeat it on separate threads?

Its just routine language. Look at page 11 or use the search function on your computer and type in golf carts to find it in the agenda packet.

Have you ever tried that? "the other news source" is easier to type than something that will be automatically deleted anyway.

"6. Golf carts. Golf carts may be allowed to utilize the multi-use paths and CDD owned roadways within the Project pending final engineering approval at the time of site plan. The City reserves the right to deny use of golf carts within the Project should such use present a safety concern."

Being too lazy to go read the article, does that mean that a non-villages development will potentially have access to our trail system? I smell cart permits coming soon.

A friend has a simple explanation-life is not fair.
A family of four on minimum wage? Birth control was prudent.

And with Abortion not available, planning may not always be possible.
Yes, life is not fair, but to me the POINT of a society (as opposed to everyone living as hermits) is to provide for each other as needed.
