Except for the dealerships there's nothing close to TV except local service stations.

I hadn't tried them all, but one place stands out for service on my '15 Highlander is Quality Tire on 466 east near 301.
Great service, friendly people, and fair prices.

Good Luck

I am happy with both Sumter Tire and Wildwood Tire. Good service, no upselling and reasonable prices.

Unless you are going to a dealer, is there any reason why you would take your car to a specific repair shop for a Toyota, Honda, Ford, Cadillac, or other car makes and models?

Best to deal with the same repair shop as long as you are happy with the service. Relationship are very worthwhile

For basic oil changes i find you can't bet Walmart.
I watch for oil/filter sales and store them at home.
When I need a oil change they'll except their sale items and I get charged for the labor only.

For filter/oil change I like Walmart on 441. They have an open bay where you can watch the servicing if you'd like and fair posted prices for all the different types of oil you prefer.

I have used Phillips Toyota in Leesburg for service on my Lexus ES350 (out of warranty) for 3 years and have been pleased with the quality of service and the pricing. There have been no attempts to up-sell any services, only suggesting that we follow the maintenance schedule listed in the owner's manual. As this model is based on the Toyota Avalon, there is no issue with them accessing appropriate parts, and I will continue to use them as long as I keep this car.

I have had Toyota's all six years we have lived here. My current one is a Rav 4. Have always had them serviced according to manufacturer's schedule at Phillips Toyota in Leesburg. We have been happy with the service and the price. Never had an attempt to upsell anything.

We get our Toyota serviced at Phillips in Leesburg. Been very happy with service. Make an appointment & they are usually right on time. I think closest Lexus is near Tampa or Orlando. But that is why we bought Toyota. Service close by.

Wesley Chapel Lexus which is 55 miles down I75. Or Lexus of Orlando at Millenia Mall which is 50 miles down the turnpike. There service departments are excellent. I go to Wesley Chapel for 2 additional reasons. 1) I75 is a much better drive than the turnpike (I75 is 3 lanes vs. 2 for the turnpike) and 2) Costco is the next exit south of the Lexus dealer where gas is usually 30 to 40 cents cheaper than the Villages area. And maybe 3) there are premium outlets next to Costco where I buy Greg Norman golf clothes at huge discounts. Also - Millenia Mall area also has a Costco and lots of Mall shopping, but lots and lots of people and traffic which is a negative for me.

That’s also where we go to get our Lexus serviced. It’s an hour away. There is also a Toyota dealership in Ocala. Our car is under warranty, so we only take it to the dealer for service.

A SECOND recommendation for Gregg Smith Automotive-- I've been using them for all four of the cars I've owned (two Lexus, one Pontiac, and one Genesis) for the 17 years I've lived here. Honest and capable!

Same recommendation by me.

Moved here in 2019 with my 2006 RX400h, and traded it in for for an RX350 in May 2020.

Great service shop, and lifetime "free" regular service at recommended intervals. Nice lounge while waiting.

Busy? They have pickup services here in The Villages. Contact them directly for details.

Not as crowded at Orlando or Winter Park dealers.

I've always taken our cars to the dealer for service. Here and back in Oregon.

My brother in law worked for a Cadillac/Oldsmobile dealership in Virginia. He said they work on commission and try to find as much as possible wrong with cars...

I am sure not all like that but they do have some rotten apples. That is why I tend to go to a neighborhood repair shop where I know some people including the owner

I have a lexus and its cheaper at Leesburg Toyota for most things rather than a Lexus dealer. The only thing is they quote you a few estra things - some items that you don't really need. Like they said I needed to change my air filters, but I had done that 4 months ago so it wasn't a legitimate item. Plus they didn't have access to my glove compartment so they wouldn't know about the cabin filter.

CR - Do you know if Phillips Toyota will act as a certified Lexus dealer? I don’t want to drive all the way to Wesley Chapel. Thanks in advance, Doug

I have used Expert Auto Center in Fruitland Park for my Mercedes service. They work on multiple import and domestic vehicles. They have been great for me. I believe George is the owner. I took my vehicle in for scheduled maintenance and told him to check my brakes because I felt they were acting differently (75K miles). When I picked up my car he told me my brakes were fine. I thought surely he would say I needed some brake work, but he didn’t take advantage of my situation. I gained a whole lot of trust for him that day!

Last week noticed an oil leak in my nearly new Camry and reached out to Phillips service manager.

He asked me when I wanted to come in said immediately and he said see you soon. They quickly found the problem and fixed it and explained what happened in great detail.

You want to explain why you want to destroy their business?

Not only are they great but they picked up our car at the house, serviced it and returned it the next day…all for FREE!

Reading all of these posts. TV has over 130K people living here and people are recommending drives of over 60 miles to get a car worked on. I guess problem is that most newer cars are so reliable that there is not a good market for anything more complicated than tires, oil and brakes

FREE? WRONG,
You already paid for that free service 10X over if you bought a Lexus.

I disagree that dealers will clean your pockets. I got comparative estimates for some work, and the the dealer and the outside service center gave me nearly the same estimate (with the dealer being a little cheaper). I have gone to Phillips Toyota ever since to have my Toyota serviced. They keep excellent records of all service performed and do prompt excellent work. Always friendly and helpful/

Wherever you take your ride for service, I want to go back to old days when you could talk straight to the mechanic that
worked on your car instead of talking to some guy/gal service writer that shuffle papers.

I hate when they ask for your keys and drive your car behind closed doors for a couple hours.

Very true. They always say it is for insurance reasons and wonder if that is really true?

The mechanic could come inside and discuss your vehicle with you. That would be the honest thing to do.

True but seems like they are told not to and have the guy at front desk come out and give you the info second hand.
