Did anyone see the blurb in the Sun about a murder suicide in the Village of Santiago? Neighbors reported the couple had not been seen for a few days and the police went to check on them and found their bodies. Knowing how protective the Sun is of The Villages I was surprised there was even a mention about it.

It was in yesterday's paper as well--the fact that the police had responded to neighbor's concerns and found the couple. Today just confirmed the cause of death. There may have been health problems with one or both--my deepest sympathy to their family and friends.

How very sad. I didn't see it, but I will look now.
I agree that my first thought would be that they had unsolvable health problems.

Same thing happened to well know couple we knew in Massachusetts. They were a popular active couple. Shocked everybody. Apparently they were deeply underwater financially.

It saddens me to think how lonely and desperate a person would have to be, to make that type of decision.

I could not say it any better. My deepest sympathy to family and friends. How terribly sad.

I read the notice in the Sun, and felt so sorry for the family. My prayers are with the surviving family and friends.

They could tell by the powder burns, if suicide rather than murder unless the wife wanted her husband to kill her?

Or lack of powder burns on one.

Too small. I doubt it is on the Villages Daily Sun website. They usually only have a few of the articles from the Front Pages of various sections.

The obits were in this morning's paper. They asked that memorial contributions be sent to Alzheimer's Association.

There are few things as cruel as Alzheimer's. I can well understand why one would kill their beloved spouse and then feel there is nothing is left for them. What a tragic loss. I hope friends and kin can understand, accept and ultimately rejoice in the love these two must have had for each other and the lives they lived before this disease devastated them.

You are so kind and loving Redwitch. Hope to meet you when I get to the Villages next year. Your compassion and integrity shows great character.
God Bless you sweet lady.

That is so sad. May they rest in peace.
