I am getting ready to renew my Homeowners insurance, I currently pay $745 for $205,000 on the dwelling (Block home with hip roof), $1,000 deductible, $300,000 personal liability, $1,000 deductible on sinkhole coverage, and 2% hurricane deductible. How does this stack up to what you are paying....gn

FWIW - Won't be apples to apples, but here's what I've found nonetheless:
I'm getting quotes as we speak on a resale (built in '07) patio villa that we're in the midst of purchasing. Replacement cost $140k. Living in it 5 months/yr, no renters, no pets.
via Sumter Marion (actually, a part of The Villages Insurance) - underwritten by American Integrity Insurance, including hurricane and sinkhole coverage. Quoted 3 ways:
- 5% ded for hurricane, $2,500 ded for all other perils........$464/yr.
- $2,800 ded for hurricane, $1k ded for all other perils........$493/yr.
- $500 ded for hurricane, $500 ded for all other perils........$572/yr.
All the above include what they call the "Gold Package": water back-up coverage, replacement cost on contents, identity fraud coverage up to $15k, increased coverage for jewelry (up to $5k total and $1k/item), $500 for food spoilage due to power outage from a covered peril, plus some other extras.
via AAA - underwritten by Florida Family Insurance, including hurricane and sinkhole coverage.
- 2% hurricane deductible, $500 ded all other perils.............$670/yr.
I'd like to get a quote for a policy via ASI. But apparently they aren't writing any more new policies at present (at least for the area where this house is - Duval). They limit their exposure by not writing more policies in an area where they've already issued a predefined number of policies. So sorry about our luck at present with them!! :)
Hope that helps!

Very comparable to what we have with the same company with a bit higher dwelling coverage and stick built instead of CBS.
We have had the policy since 2005.

I have been travelling a bit so missing my TOTV fix. Sounds like you are all set, but in case this helps:
We use ASI
Dwelling: $203000
Other Structures: $4600 (not sure what this is, maybe lanai?)
Contents coverage: $20000
Loss of Use: $20000
Liability/Medical: $300000/$5000
Deductibles:
Hurricane: 2% - $4060
All other perils: $500
I paid $571 in April 2010.
FWIW, I paid $626 in my first year (2007). Possibly because it was just after the tornado?

Yes, if you are able to use USAA, give them a shout. Remember to ask for the Florida desk.

Guess I need to give them a call. They told me they were not doing Fl for homeowners. Did you have Homeowners elsewhere with USAA?
