Oh my, I didn't like it at all! I couldn't watch. Yes, I know nature has a food chain... but it just broke my heart. The poor baby bear was so innocent an scared. Please tell me it ended well! But if you tell me, I might not find out anyway. I'm afraid to come back to this thread for the answer in case it didn't end well. Surely it ended well, I mean the bear is safe at the end, or lride wouldn't have posted it, right? OK, only answer if the answer is good news and maybe I'll cross my fingers and try to look here for the answer. Hey, If it's good news, baby someone could tell me so in another forum, so O wouldn't have to risk coming back here and having my heart sink. :cryin2:

PT...I had to FORCE myself to watch the whole video...you feel everything that the baby bear is feeling...but the ending is worth it. I wound up posting it on my Facebook page for everyone to see (with a warning that it can be a bit disturbing).

I actually broke out in a cold sweat and I could feel my blood pressure rise. My question is how is something like this filmed. Is it set up? The sounds were disturbing. My focus was so intense that a bomb could have exploded and I wouldn't hear it.
PT the ending was a good one. Whew!!! I need a cup of coffee.

Ok, thanks dear friends. I'm glad. And I'm glad I just watched through the end. I had gotten as far as 2:34 last night-- hoping, hoping, hoping-- until the admittedly magnificent cougar was waiting down stream.
Don't read further if you haven't watched it and plan to...
I scrolled backward and watched the beginning of the end twice. I had just seen most of the scary part for the second time and I wanted to treat myself to the heartwarming part again. I noticed something the second time that surprised me. It wasn't the bear's Mom who saved the cub.

Let me guess . . . . was the cougar afraid of someone with the initials MM? And THAT'S what saved the little cub???

Okay, PTurner, I'm tired of watchin' the ending over and over to see what you said scared the cougar away. I only see the mother bear. C'mon now, tell us!! Pretty Please?

I just can't imagine the number of cameras, the set up, the microphones, that had to be in place to catch this on film. I think some of the cubs noises are over laid, but the splashing in the water sounds and others, not really possible. I have always marveled at the photos that Steve Bloom captured, but this one is really amazing.

I saw this film about 10 years ago and I think it was a Disney film. I asked my husband and he thought it was too.

I just tried again and it's hard to pick up. I'm not sure why I noticed it on the second viewing this morning. I think it's a coincidence of where I happened to slide the button to re-watch the end. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :o
Anyway, if you happen to catch the right frames (3:16-3:18, I think), you will see that the bear could not have been the cub's momma.
It could have been the cub's daddy though.;)
See what I mean? :faint:
