Is anyone else not getting mail delivered to them? Missing bank statements, charge card statements, water bills from the Villages. Tired of this and the post office hasn't helped much. Lots of excuses.

Any statement that can come online is worth it. You are correct mail service has declined in the last 6 years for us, not just mail but boxes from USPS, lost for months. Since going online statements, only get junk mail, comes to our box

We have been here almost 10 years and no problems, just south of 466A. You may want to mention your specific mail (village) location. There have been previous problems reported at specific locations due to a specific contractor not doing their work correctly. I recall seeing an effort to get a new US post office for the area south of 44 as it appears the Lady Lake post office may be overwhelmed. My stepson appears to be having some problems in Wildwood (city not the villages section)

We have never had a problem getting bills, they have a way of always finding ya. Our problem is the amount of junk mail we continuously get, most of it addressed to the first two owners of our home, who are both deceased.

When we go north for a couple of months in the summer we had a few problems with “forward mail”. Otherwise no problems in the Village of LaBelle south of 466A.

We live south of 44 and have so for over 5 years with no problems ever. Our contract person Megan is great and extremely helpful. I guess it all depends on who handles you mail.

There is a form on the PO site where you can report them as deceased

Have filled out that form over 10 times. Still get mail for 6 people 4 deceased, 2 in memory care. Now I just use big red markers and write, dead can no longer read this mail, return to sender:22yikes:

Mail forwaeding in a timely manner is a joke. I am getting nasty grams from companies I have been with for 20 yrs.

Sarah has been handling the mail at the Chatham station since 2007. We are so lucky - she's a gem. Reading of the problems others have had makes me appreciate her even more.

Nope, I'm getting all the mail I'm expecting every week, right around the time I expect it. Haven't had any problems with our postal service since we moved in, almost three years ago. We also had excellent service when I lived up north.

I know folks that believe in 'no paper'. Whenever they can't find documents from years ago, they have to pay the bank or outfit to do research for them. No thanks. I will file the paper so I have what I need when I need it in the future.

We can look up any of our accounts for 7 years, which is more than enough years for Government or any warranty work

I am not comfortable with the mail service. Too many times I’ve received a notice of a late fee due to my payment not received when in fact I mailed early enough. I now make payment on line. Mailed my son in laws birthday card in June, he has not received it yet!

Try subscribing to the free USPS Informed Delivery service which sends a daily email of mail images that you should expect that day in your mailbox. The USPS website can be used to subscribe.

Why not hand deliver the mail to your neighbors and ask them to do the same when it happens to them? Not only would they get their mail faster than you re-sending it, but you could make new friends.

Hold on, hold on, mail issues....last month I received 11 pieces of mail from 2019. Yes condolence cards and even a check for $1300. Excuse was it was found under equipment which was recently moved at Lady Lake. I hope I get another surprise check in 2025...🤔

We have experienced delays on several bills and currently waiting on something mailed a month ago. It is election season so expect the worst. You can thank our postmaster general.

USPS is having difficulty hiring and retaining employees. The people who work in the mail stations aren’t even USPS employees; they work for sub-contractors. Those employers, whose pay and benefits probably aren’t even as good as USPS are almost certainly having the same problem.

Wasn’t the current Postmaster General appointed by the former POTUS, with instructions to slow down the mail-in ballots? He immediately took a bunch of high speed mail sorting machines out of service. Don’t we have an election coming up?

Or, do your own document searches for free. That's what I do. Others store my documents electronically, and I get them anytime I want.

Truist Bank maintains 7 years of checking account statements, and 2 years of credit card statements online. I store all tax returns from TurboTax in the cloud in a PDF format.

If you have a serious problem with mail delivery, visit the Lady Lake main Post Office at 850 Teague Trail and ask to speak with the Postmaster, Denise Buell. Be polite and concerned not ranting. She is the one that assigns the contractors to the mail stations. She'll want your address and/or 9 digit Zip Code and specific instances of what pieces were missing and approximate dates of delivery.
We had a problem a few years back with an old guy smoking cigars in the mail station. All our mail smelled of smoke. One complaint to her and puff, he was gone.
Ask other residents at your mail station if they experience the same problem. If yes, encourage them to visit or call the postmaster (352-753-3888) too.

Years back we had a husband and wife team for about two years. They were great. Never a mistake; very friendly too. Oddly their last name was Stamp! Then they suddenly got re-assigned, replacing a bad contractor somewhere else. Contractors seldom last 1-2 years in the same station.

Report back here when you have a solution.

Usually, you can search quite a few years back with most institutions. No need to file all those papers - it’s available online. I’ve never had to pay a fee.

You can always download a pdf copy of the statements when they come in the email and save them to your computer. No piles of paper to account for, easier to find when you need them, and you’re not dependent on the postal system to get them to you.
