What tax cut do you think should be remembered for you - residents already benefit from several property tax discounts and FL doesn't have a personal income tax - what are you looking for now?

Sounds more like a campaign advertisement nothing I have seen in Florida News.

And there are individuals that believe you were way overpaid in your former occupation, human nature. I wouldn’t want to be a school administrator for all the nickels out there. Remember, if you want nice, you have to pay the piper. Florida has a lot to offer and many excellent services. That has a cost and if you have lived in any of the other high priced tax states and cities, you can see the value here.

I would've liked to know that my entire lifetime I was contributing taxes that didn't leave my state, to be sent to states that didn't pay enough and therefore got more to pay for social services. Like Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama - all those states with high poverty rates. My federal income taxes paid for their welfare, and I didn't get to benefit from even living in those states.
And yet - I also know that as a result of my money going to benefit those states, we have fewer people on welfare, fewer stupid uneducated people, fewer people spreading disease. It's still a problem, but a lot less than if they hadn't gotten that money at all.
So I'm at peace with it. I'm at peace with it because I'm not isolated, I don't consider myself to be someone who lives in a bubble. I consider myself a citizen of the United States, not just the Villages State or the Republican State or the Liberal State. The UNITED States. So if someone needs something, and it won't kill me to dish out another dime every year along with all my other fellow citizens, to help that person get food, clothing, shelter, education so that they can get a job and become self-supporting, then I'm happy to toss the dime in the pot.
That's what civilized people do, according to my grandmother, who helped my grandfather earn a small fortune, but expected her kids and grandkids to work, and to give back to our community to help the less fortunate.

So you know for a fact that the School Administrator takes the Summer off while getting paid to soak in the pool - a neighbor, friend or relative? The SA in my town has spent his Summer coordinating administrative, bus and course scheduling with school Principals and Vice Principals. And he was interviewing/hiring staff as well as inventorying and ordering books and school supplies for the coming year. Much of his time was also spent coordinating school building upgrades with the remodeling program taking place! Bet he'd like to apply for your SA's position!

To keep more of our own money? Everyone should strive to pay the lowest amount of taxes, legally of course..

Of course and everyone should be prepared to get exactly what they payed for with their low, low taxes.

I guess you don’t know that they get an annual salary spread over 12 months so they already earned that money.

School Administrators do not work a 9-5 schedule. Their day starts as early as 6 or 7 AM and ends as late as 9,10 or even 11 PM, oh and then there’s the weekend events that they are required to work. Not to mention having to deal with children that are not always angels and their parents that think they are. One more thing, they don’t get the entire summer off there are planning meetings, trainings on how to deal with situations such as an active shooter situation. They are the ones who along with school officers protect the children until the police arrive. So yes a few extra days during the summer are well deserved. Maybe you would like to step into their shoes for awhile and see how cushy a job it is.

School administrators are year round employees. Low paid teachers in Florida have to work during the summer to make ends meet. The only persons in the government, that I see, are overpaid are the governor and state legislators!

There was a bill passed in April waiving the Florida road tax of 23.8 cents a gallon in October. It's not sure that the entire amount will be passed on to consumers.
Why the October timing? Why not a summer month when typically prices peak and consumers get hit the hardest?

I don’t know about Fl, but teachers and Administrators usually get an annual salary that’s broken down into 12 months.
They deserve every dime they get!

With all due respect, administrators don’t get the summer off. As a matter of fact in my 17 years in administration in the 6th largest school district in Florida I only had the time between Christmas and New Years off once. You might want to research a little before making blanket statements. With all due respect of course.

Florida is a very responsibly financially and sensible state while a great deal of states are not and don't believe in the reality in the way their states, tax their residents.

What tax cut do you think should be remembered for you - residents already benefit from several property tax discounts and FL doesn't have a personal income tax - what are you looking for now?You obviously don’t live in Marion County where property taxes are really high.
