The best deals for dishwashers are in stores where you hire your own installer. Any suggestions or recommendations for this job? Thanks.

If you buy it at Best Buy, they will deliver and install it for $215. That sounds very reasonable to me. I don't think you will do much better from an appliance repair company, or even a handyman, especially if they need to pick it up at the store.

I just changed mine it took about 45 minutes. A nice project for a hot afternoon in A/C.

About a month ago we used our go to plumbing company.....Villages Plumber (352)-205-5262 . Was $160 I think. We got the dishwasher from Lowes and it was $45 just to have Lowe's vendor do an estimate which was a two week wait then wait again for install that was $200 plus more.

HOWEVER, we had tile added in our kitchen which they installed on top of the existing vinyl flooring so it made it a bit more difficult to get the dishwasher pulled over the raised tile/vinyl flooring. Had to fight with that for a while.

Just bought dishwasher at Best Buy. One year unlimited geek squad, and install of any appliance, Wall mount TV, or sound system, $200.
Includes delivery, install, haul away, and 2 year extension warranty. Worth the money

I did the same. Think the plan has been extended to two years now. That does include the "Geek Squad" service too. This means anything you buy has free installation and service. Just had a new dishwasher installed under the plan I purchased almost a year ago. In and out in 30 minutes. Great job.

I think it is worth paying a little more when the store you buy it from is also responsible for delivery and installation. Best Buy seems to do a good job with appliances.

I am in the same boat…who can get a dishwasher out over tile installed in front….afraid installer from Lowes will not want to try, or just start breaking up tile.

I just got a quote from Home Depot. Replacement of an existing dishwasher is $400 and they will not do it if you have the pull-push water shutoff. Ridiculous.

Best Buy will change the push pull with no issues

I had this exact same problem in a previous house. I was luck, the countertop was Formica, and I was able to break the glue joint and get about 1/4 inch additional space to get the old dishwasher out. The new one had a little more clearance. I completely eliminated to problem 2 years later when we redid the kitchen, and I removed all of the old flooring, install new flooring THEN the new cabinets, and then the new stone counter tops.

Well, the legs of the DW are adjustable. I was able to "jack up" the front of the old DW with a "lever" (protecting the tile with a piece of cardboard) then get a wrench in to turn the front legs shorter. After that there was just enough room to pull it out, again still using the cardboard as protection I did the reverse to get the new one back in. Cranked the legs to the shortest position, slid it in, then jacked up the new DW as before then rather than cranking the legs long again I got a thin piece of plywood UNDER the short legs so next time, or if repair is needed, all I have to do is remove the plywood to drop down the DW and slide it right out. As much as I had no desire to pay to have it installed, it wasn't all about the benjamins, but because I enjoy that kind of work. Maybe if I had unlimited funds I wouldn't think that way, but since I have never had unlimited funds (or even slightly limited funds :) ) I much prefer and actually enjoy the DIY route.
