I get the TV or computer setup for a live feed, then I watch the live feed for several seconds and go out on my lanai and watch the rocket about 15 to 20 seconds after launch.

Never heard of one in the 10 years I've been here. Not sure what you mean by "set up for."

There is a rocket launch tonight at 8:32PM from the guy and company who actually know how to do it and while not using billions in tax payers money - SpaceX is launching another batch of Starlink satellites on board a Falcon 9

I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't contract out the Artemis mission to a private company, like SpaceX. They have shown they can do it cheaper and faster than NASA was ever able to.

I’ve never heard of it either. There are the telescope pads over at Homestead Rec Center but I doubt they’d offer any better view than anywhere else.

The next Starlink launch from Kenedy is 7:51 PM, Say 9/10.

For those who don't know, NASA has a space launch facility at Wallops Island on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Most launches are small but a couple times a year they send a larger rocket up to resupply the ISS. Wallops posts a map showing who can see the launch and how long after takeoff. I wonder if Kennedy does the same.

Perhaps because NASA had already started on SLS/Orion before SpaceX had proven themselves.

No such place here. There is, however, an astronomy park near the Homestead recreation center. It has several concrete pads for those folks who want to bring their own telescopes. One good thing is that it is relatively isolated from bright lights of shopping centers; none within a couple of miles. OTH, it is surrounded by trees which limit observing the lower part of the sky. Additionally, it is not on high ground; relatively the same level as the rest of The Villages.

For observing launches from Kennedy, you'll be just as well off on your own property. While we can rarely see the actual vehicles from this distance, the contrails from the rockets are usually visible a few seconds after launch. Follow this site for launch times: Space Launch Schedule & Live Rocket Launch Video Streams (https://www.spacelaunchschedule.com/)

Seems like the 60’s technology is far superior to the one they are trying to launch now. Get the rocket in the museum back into the game

Everything government attempts is garbage compared to having the experts from the outside doing it. Health care and space exploration projects are just 2 examples. If anybody else would have their project cost increase from $4B to $93B, would have been fired. Musk should show up, fix the leak, then Artemis could take off.

NASA did contract SpaceX to provide the lunar lander for Artemis III in 2025. A Starship will take the lander to lunar orbit and hand off to the NASA crew.

We walk up on the Chitty Chatty Bridge. (Do not park on the bridge.)
Clear shot to the coast because it is "set up" higher than other locations on the ground.
So there... :)

There is a "star gazing " area at Homestead but it closes at dark. Dumb huh? Makes no sense

Above my paygrade but as far as SpaceX and a private company doing space launches, how can our country maintain security? Secrets, available to the highest bidder?

SpaceX does not build ships large enough to go to the moon and back. They are currently focused on orbital missions.

I think this is the location I was looking for. I had heard it was one that closed at dusk which was very odd to me.
Thats Homestead rec center right?
