Let us just say that not everything turns out the way you think it is supposed to.

So no information on the subject, or you used this service and did or didn’t get the results that you expected or the results that were explained and you are just not happy.

OP is asking about a service from a specific company. My result was not good. That is why I said things don't always go they way they should.

Both my father and I had the premium package. He was 90 years old, ten years ago when he had his done. His results were excellent. Had mine done one year ago, mine a little less than excellent. Same doctor, I used the latest updated lens, so taking into account there are a lot of variables and every one is different.
The care was excellent. Could the results have been better. Everyone goes into surgery hoping for excellent results. There is no way to know. Try to get everything explained to you so you are satisfied with your decision.

I had my right eye done there and was not really satisfied with the results. This was 3 years ago. I am now at the point I need the left eye done and am considering it done elsewhere. I don't want to be critical of Lake Eye, the doctor, the type lens, the lazer lens removal or the procedure. I just felt it did not turn out as it should have and I had a very difficult time convincing anyone there that I had a problem. They just kept telling me everything looked good. I had pain in the eye for about 6 months. The eye still waters more then before or my other eye. It seemed to me the peripheral vision was not as good as before the surgery. I went back several times and finally gave up after the pain stopped. Could have been my eye, me, or something entirely different. But will consider elsewhere for my next one.

we just had one eye done and will do the second next week. Very satisfied with the first eye. Expensive for anything beyond "standard" but they all are.

One thing I don't like is the "assembly line" surgery practice. One hiccup and the assembly line breaks down, possibly leading to errors.

I had standard cataract surgery for both eyes by Lake Eye several years ago and the results and care are excellent, 20/20. I was not a candidate for multifocal lenses nor did I want them so I have to use reading glasses. I also didn’t want one lens for far vision or one for close vision, that is an option.
I obtained two opinions before I had the cataract surgery. St Luke’s and Lake Eye. Both were excellent in my opinion but St Luke’s had an out of pocket cost above Medicare, Lake Eye didn’t. That was several years ago so I’m not sure if that is still the case.

Had both eye's done by Dr. Scott Wehrly at Lake Eye using laser. The corrective lenses I requested addressed my near sightedness as well as my astigmatism. I opted not to have the multifocal lenses because I have worn glasses almost all my life and could live with using them for reading. While Dr. Wehrly was performing the surgery he also placed stints in both eyes to correct my glaucoma. Outcome was excellent as was care.

Ya know it’s done by a machine, with doctors assist. It’s not like the old days where physicians actually did the procedure….The only assembly line break down is if it goes out for repair, or goes to another facility. Every practice schedule’s their eyes back to back, sometimes up to 20 patients.

I just had my right eye done with the standard lenses for nearsightedness. I can’t believe how much better I can see. Colors are so vivid and clear. I had been wearing glasses since I was 16 and to not have to wear them when I drive is awesome. I can see dash and computer without glasses but once I get my left eye done I will need readers for reading. Almost got the multi focal but talked with someone who had them and he has halos at night. I have no halos. Didn’t want to take the chance so I went with the standard lenses. Very happy so far. Can’t wait to get the left eye done. Best part Medicare is paying for everything and what they don’t pay my BC/BS will pay for.

I had mine done by Dr. Ireland at St. Luke’s, with the standard lenses—very satisfied. My wife had hers done at Lake Eye with the bi-focal lenses. She says she’d NEVER get those lenses again, otherwise OK.

So, AI is doing the surgery, and the doctor is hands off? Or is the doctor using a laser instead of a knife/scalpel?
Guess the robot doing my eye got the hiccups. Thank my lucky stars the doctor was nearby to take over or I might have ended up blind. Thankfully, got some vision back in a couple of weeks.
I don't know about every practice, but most probably do "assembly line" the simple/routine procedures for economy sake.

Lake Eye very expensive as you have to pay for their surgery center. Use St. Luke's!

Yes and very happy with the results. Procedure done by Dr. Zeini at Eyes of The Villages. He’s been here for over 20 years. A very personable and caring practice, from the receptionist to the assistants to the Doctor.

Is this using the femto-pulse laser process?

I received the standard lenses, done by Dr. Baumann at Mid Florida Eye. Fully paid by Medicare, don't mind wearing cheaters for reading, very happy with the outcome and I didn't have to pay $7,000.

I had both my eyes done and went for the premium lenses at Lake Eye 4 years ago. Dr. Holman was terrific. I went from wearing glasses for 40 years for both distance and reading to almost 20/20 vision. I read at least 1 to 2 books a week and wear no glasses. I play golf and can actually see my ball after I hit it. It was well worth the money. My wife had the same results. If you can afford the premium package, go for it.

You get what you pay for. See my remarks on Lake Eye, Dr. Holman. Well worth the money when you don't have to wear glasses after 40 years.

Are you referring to the Superior (middle package Toric) or Premium (top package) ?

Been a few years now, but it was the best offered. When the hiccup occurred, couldn't put in the special toric, so they put in generic lens. Also ended up with "foggy" or "Smokey" vision which they blamed on previous surgery. Funny, I never had that condition before cataract surgery. I now need hard contacts to get my best vision.
When asked about any type of eye surgery, I say don't let anyone touch your eyes until absolutely necessary.

I had a laser assisted cataract surgery with extended depth Eyhance lenses at Lake Eye 4 months ago - I couldn’t have multi focal lenses because of severe myopia. My vision in both eyes is 20/25 now. I need readers to read, use computer, cook etc, but I don’t need glasses to drive, play golf, Pickleball etc. My distance vision is ok but not perfect. Not particularly thrilled with the results but not unhappy either. I think the procedure is overpriced. I paid $8000 for both eyes… there was little transparency from the Lake Eye when it comes to pricing. They overcharged me about $2000 and I’m still trying to get it back.

Had multi focal lens with my cataract surgery several years ago. Didn’t want to use readers or wear glasses again. Very happy with my procedure and outcome.
