I’m with you fully. Our prayers for all who perished and all those left behind.

Thanks for your help at ground zero. I was fortunate enough to have seen the memorial last summer I believe and it is just amazing what a great job was done building it so we never forget. It is something that means a whole lot more to me after being lucky enough to see it in person.

I hope our country recommits itself to getting on the Security Kick again.

The first responders were celebrated and treated as heroes for a short time and then people forgot. Now 21 years later much of the population wasn’t even born when it happened or were too young to remember. :sad:

I lost 2 high school classmates and the wife of a good friend that day. The father of one of our bridesmaids worked in the #7 building and was narrowly missed by a jumper as they evacuated, he has some of the worst PTSD I've ever seen. His daughter has chronic lung issues from the cloud that hung over the city. My brother had an appointment there that day, but fortunately not until 11 AM. My son was in the air flying from Phoenix to Boston.

I have posted some not so nice things about the ethnic group to which these 20 terrorists belonged in the past. Sorry, but based on the previous paragraph, most will understand that I have no love lost in that regard. Is it fair to judge 1 billion based on the actions of 20?----no. However, did any of us hear those 1 billion denounce the events of that day. I didn't. What I saw was celebration in the streets in that part of the world and chants of "Death to America". Did the Imans and Mullahs denounce the terrorist actions as having nothing to do with the peaceful faith of Islam? No, all I heard were crickets. I only mention it because the revisionist historians are busy at work even on this 21st anniversary.

End of rant, but NEVER FORGET!!!

as a first responder that day I am saddened by the thought that so many have forgotten or were never taught about that day. in 93 when I responded to the first attack, we all it would happen again.. we still lose about 150 people each year to this attack and it's time to make sure it never happens again..

I hear you and completely agree. I lost a couple friends that day and was on a flight out of Boston to London that left around the same time the planes were hijacked that flew out of Logan. It was a very sad time.

But the same should be said for Ferguson, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Atlanta and many other cities. Different cause, same "domestic terror". I am also dismayed by the concept that there have been over 850 arrests stemming from 1/6, but far, far less in all the cities mentioned above combined. Yet those death tolls, injuries, and property damages far out shadowed 1/6.

First year that I have not woken up screaming or weeping. I think it may be that it snook up on me. I hope it is that time is helping. Hearing a truck beep as it backs up, or smelling plastic (kind of like walking into Staples) sets me off. I try not to think of it, but this time of year there are usually shows on TV about it, and we take part in putting out 2,977 flags each year along the length of the key. As long as I do not concentrate on a face, or specific people I ran into that day I can get through it without the harsh emotions. It is becoming ancient history to kids. Perhaps that is not a totally bad thing.

Some people just overlook the suffering and tragic loss of life, and see instead a way to divide the country further. Facts are an inconvenience to them. As you say, all violence is unacceptable.

The domestic terrorists were the rioters, looters, killers, arsonists, and those maiming in the streets for months in 2020.

I donated blood on 9/11 as a tangible expression of remembrance and respect for all those affected by the attack. I highly recommend it.

And of course you don’t have to wait until the next 9/11 to make your donation. You will be doing good and feeling good about it regardless of the date. :)

It sure is a disturbing memory, but I agree we have to remember the innocent victims and heroes who were subject to that HORRIFIC act of terrorism. Seeing the footage and interviews again on 60 Minutes always brings me to tears. What atrocity. We can only hope for better security in the future, or better yet, PEACE from and for all.
