Has anyone renovated their kitchen island by eliminating the top bar of their island and bringing it down to all one level? If so, can you tell me if you have a good recommendation for the contractor and also a ballpark figure of how much it cost to do it and replace the granite? I realize it depends on how big the island is but I know the models so I can guesstimate from there.

You will also have some electrical work to consider as there are typically switches and outlets in the area you are removing. If you are in the area, you can go to the granite store on Rolling Acres Road, give them a size and pick the type of stone you want. I believe they are also doing installs now, however I have not used them for this. We did get our stone from them several years ago when we built our house.

Yes, electrical for sure. I did this in another home in another state.
I thought about Ultimate Granite on Rolling Acres and saw that they do renovations now. Will definitely check that out. Thanks!
