Well according to latest news YES. Seems as though Wokeness strikes Dilbert. Personally I have always tried to catch it each day for years. Wonder if The Sun is one of the 77?

Dilbert' author Scott Adams says comic strip about corporate office culture removed from 77 newspapers
Scott Adams has authored 'Dilbert' since 1989 but said newspaper owner Lee Enterprises has ended the comic in dozens of its publications.

Dilbert" appears in thousands of newspapers across 57 counties in 19 languages, according to Adams' website. The comic strip has been one of the most popular for many years and more than 20 million "Dilbert"-themed books and calendars have been printed.

In recent years, Adams has poked fun at themes related to the workplace, most recently Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues and the introduction of a new character named "Dave," who is Black but identifies as White.

Dave, who is named after Adams' brother, is a prankster who likes to mess with the boss, who is happy he has met his diversity quota, Adams said of the cartoon.

The author isn't blaming wokeness. You stopped your copy/paste of the article too soon. You didn't include this paragraph:
He said some newspapers voiced concerns after receiving complaints about the content, but he was not sure if that had anything to do with the removal of "Dilbert."

As for whether the Daily Sun is one of the 77, you don't have to wonder you just have to look it up. According to the Lee Enterprises website they don't have any brands in Florida.

1. I typically do not copy/paste all of a specific news piece etc. I have a pet peeve of looooonnnng posts. If one is interested in more detail look it up as you apparently did.

2. My post was a perhaps thought- provoking. Perhaps an indication of more cancellations. I hope not. Once dominos start…. I did not research The Sun etc etc.

3. Dilbert had always been topical and I enjoy the Office type reference humor. But IMO lately he HAS gone overboard and far less humorous. IMO.

I used to always read Dilbert! I loved it and thought it was hilarious. Probably still have some clips somewhere of cartoons that seems to have come directly from my workplace. Most were funny but one could relate to the humor! Stopped reading it several years ago as I thought it strayed from portraying the real office environment.
Started reading lately again and the strip still is not funny, it's just stupid!

I listen a fair amount to Real Coffee with Scott Adams (his daily podcast). I play it back at double speed.

He says he is definitely addressing wokeism with the Dilbert strip. He has often said that he himself has chosen to identify as black. He is a trained hypnotist and very perceptive about current events. He often expects to get canceled and has a plan for it.

I cannot discuss politics here. But I think I can state a fact that he had one of the earliest successful predictions of the outcome of the 2016 election. He says he's left of Bernie Sanders but people think he is on the right.

It sounds to me like he's doing exactly what I always assumed he was doing - portraying life as a parody of itself.

His identifying as black is intended to make fun of anyone who has a problem with people who identify as "other." It isn't intended to make fun of the people who identify as "other." It's intentionally creating a paradox, to point out how ridiculous it is to criticize it. Bigots will think "oh I should hate this guy because he identifies as black." LGBTQ+ PC activists will think "oh I should hate this guy because he's making fun of our gender identity issues." Black extreme activists would think "I should hate this guy because he's trying to be us and he can't be." And homophobics will think "he's identifying as other! We should hate him!" and alt-right qanon crackpots will think "woke! we must hate him!"

When all along, it's just a parody. It's a joke, and everyone who is NOT a bigot, homophobic, BLM activist, qanon crackpot, Political Correctness Police, will all think it's rather clever because it triggers all of the above in just three words: "Identifies as black."

That's what makes Dilbert so funny. And what has always made him so funny. The only reason anyone is offended these days, is because it's "their turn" to be the target. And - that's pretty funny for the rest of us.

I agree. If it sounds stupid it's because what's going on right now is stupid.

I'm thinking Dilbert was cancelled because conventional media needs to cut costs. It's a money thing. Can only give away so much for free...and who's gonna pay for it???
