As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Sept. 21, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been about 1118 new cases over the last week. About ten of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and no deaths were reported.
In Marion County, there have been about 137 new cases. About 15 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about four deaths were reported.
In Sumter County, there have been about 128 cases. About ten of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and no deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.

Fantastic reporting ABOUT 4 deaths in Marion County. And, still ABOUT some getting infected, and, ABOUT some getting admitted to hospital.

With home testing this is hardly accurate.

Stop caring about COVID right about when it started… live life without government fear forced upon you and stop tracking it. Go golf or something.

Why still tracking?
If one "must" track then how about all the other ills bouncing around?

Pfizer and Moderna just love making this stuff and having the government buy it and sell it to you. Big profits and exempt from lawsuits. No need to disclose the side effects in advertising that is required in every other drug. Here is ONE OF THE MANY UNREPORTED SIDE EFFECTS "COVID-19 infection may be associated with peripheral neuropathy in addition to various neurological sequelae."

I was terrified of getting Covid. I’m from NY and the brainwashing and lockdowns were horrible. I was one of the first on the line to get the vaccine.
I had enough of the eating in the streets under heat lamps in tents and made up outdoor stalls. Most businesses were still closed long after they should have been opened. The city would open businesses in an area only to close them again when the stats went up. Everyone just traveled a few miles to the open area to eat out or get a haircut or manicure. It was insanity!
I decided I had enough and moved to The Villages in December 2021.
In May I got Covid19. I self tested twice because I couldn’t believe it. I had all the classical symptoms. I was sick.
I called my doctor and he prescribed an anti viral. I took one dose. I had a fever, cough, chills, headache. The next morning I woke up 90% better. Within 2 days I was fine. I had no rebound, no side effects. I cannot say the same for the side effects I had for months after the vaccine.
I no longer live in fear!
I have no need to watch Covid stats, It’s irrelevant.

Edited to make it actually legible by grownups.
Notice the word "infection" in that quoted sentence? Infection is not the same as injection. They are different words, with different meanings.
Also notice the word "associated" - that means - correlation. Not causation.
So the takeaway here is that people who actually get sick with COVID-19 have shown some increased instances of peripheral neuropathy and various neurological sequelae. Since the quote has no source attached to it, and it's an isolated sentence with no context at all, there's no way to know if this statement is even true. It could be just some rando op-ed fake doctor on youtube who is pushing his alt-med supplements and making fake claims to scare people. Or it could be 100% true, that getting sick with COVID-19 can increase the risk of these things.
I give you my word. My Peripheral Neuropathy has virtually ended since I started the Moderna Covid shots. Is it just a coincidence that this happened after 10-plus years of pain that was indescribable? Who the hell knows but I'll take the improvement. Don't get me wrong, the pain is still there but it doesn't have a total hold on me. I'm grateful. :)

I'm glad you're doing better! It's probably a coincidence. Or maybe (just a wild shot in the dark - pun intended)...maybe it has something to do with acupuncture? The needle went in to the skin, and hit juuuuuuuust the right spot that caused some of the problem to disappear?
I doubt the shot would /cure/ or /treat/ existing anything really. But I know what you mean - close enough is close enough, if it's an end to horrible pain. Congrats!

Almost 1000 more cases in Lake County compared to the others,I find that hard to believe.

It's easy enough to check the website given in the article.
Of course, when you do that you will find that most of the numbers in the article don't match the CDC numbers.

About ten of the about 19 posts so far in this thread have relatively negative attitudes about threads posting statistics about COVID.
Somewhat.

The usual suspects are making the same arguments they made in every other single covid thread. And yet, no one's mind has been changed...
Could someone remind me of "the definition of insanity" is again?
