All the gates are locked, but the only signage refers only to the dog parks being closed for maintenance.

What gates? There's only one gate to the walking park, and that's the gate leading out to the MMP that runs beside 441 at the lake.

They've been doing tree work for the past week though, and different lots had cones or tapes to restrict access to ensure that no one got a branch through their windshield.

There are five gates on the walking path along Paradise drive, and a few others on the path along the lake.

I don't know what gates you're talking about. That's where I live, and the only gate I can think of that restricts access to the walking park is the one that leads in and out of the MMP next to 441. There are gates into at side of the Villages off 441, but those are for cars that drive on the streets, and they don't lock, they're swing-arm gates that you can press a red button to open.

I’m referring to the gates on the walking paths, not the road.

There were at least a dozen Duke/Seco Energy trucks parked on the grass on that side of 441 yesterday. Who knows maybe it has something to do with what you've encountered.

There are still cherry-pickers in the area, they're still doing tree work. I finally found one of the "gates" he's talking about. If you walk between the archery range and the dog park, there's a fence that lets you continue through. The swing-gate for that fence is chained closed. The fence is only around 3 feet high, you could easily climb over it if you absolutely had to do so.

But that's because - there are cherry-pickers in the area, they're still doing tree work. No doubt they'll open up and take the chains off once they're done with the project - which is ongoing.

Lakeside Landings has gates that are locked to non residents. Visitors must use a call box...A resident uses a phone to open the gate for them

There are the road gates and then there are a series of walking path gates throughout Paradise Park. All the walking path gates were chain locked with no explanation why. People drive for miles to walk there and deserve a posted explanation. Lots of seniors cannot step over the gates as someone suggested. Simply discourteous to frequent park users.

There is plenty of explanation why. If you can't see the construction material piles, the tree-removal equipment, and the cherry-pickers that lift a worker around 80 feet up in the air, then you're literally missing the forest for the trees. Those machines are cleared out at night - and the park is closed at dusk so you shouldn't be there at those times anyway.

This is hurricane season. They're preparing the park for possible damage, which apparently they do every year.

It's an inconvenience for a couple of weeks out of the year.

I just did that. There's no "news" information regarding tree work at Paradise Park. The link on the "Parks and Recreation" thumbnail is broken and doesn't go anywhere.

However, I don't need to check with them, because I can see for myself that they're doing tree work.
