Is there any computer service close by that can replace the touch screen?

Getting black lines and round black dots on the screen.:ohdear:

Try MMD if they cannot would try ubreakit wefixit.

Depending on your model # and comfort level, I have used ifixit.com to replace the touch screen on my Toshiba Satellite. They provide very good step by step instructions, parts and tools. I have replaced iphone batteries, screens and apple watch screens and screen sensors with their products. I have no experience with local shops.

You can buy replacement laptop screens on Amazon. If you find the correct screen, it may be a DIY project.

Watching the Youtube video, it looks like anyone could do it. I was surprised how inexpensive replacement screens are on Amazon.

There is no trim around the screen on a L55W Satellite. All sites say it should be done by a professional. Looking for a local Toshiba Authorized service center.:024:

Also, have you asked MMD on Rt 441 if they can install a replacement laptop screen? Another option is Gizmo Depot. It looks like you can buy the screen on Amazon for about $65.

It's a touch screen with glass cover. MMD wants $350 to $400 because the glass will break. Bought a new one for $499.99.
