New to Chromebook last several months, like it very much. My question does it slow down with use.Seems like small videos play then freeze. Any tips or suggestions?
It is an Asus 32gig storage and 4 gig of ram.

4 GB of RAM is pretty low for a computer today. I would have recommended at least 8 GB. I had a 4 GB Lenovo Windows laptop a few years ago, and it became so slow when using the internet, that I threw it away. But, I don't know if that is your issue. If it is a new computer, I would suggest reading the reviews from other owners. You should also do an internet speed test.

As already mentioned more ram always helps. Depending on how many applications you have open will vary processing speed. You can also do the following to help.

Defrag
Clean up extensions
Clean up hard drive
Change your hard drive to cloud
Uninstall any unused apps
Powerwash (although last resort as it restores to factory)

I have the same specs in my Chromebook I've never had issues. I suggest doing a Powerwash once you log back in your settings and apps will come back.

If you are playing the videos on the Internet, you may want to run a speed test. Your computers performance on these situations are heavily dependent on how fast your connection is. Google speed test and run one of those. Do it when things are going well. Then do it when things slow down and compare....

A Chromebook is NOT a PC, it is a cloud based device. Slow videos would be a function of internet speed. I've been using Chromebooks since they first came out in 2010. The Chromebook does everything I need. I gave up on Windows 7 years ago (I switched the laptop to Linux).

Yes, but if the OP downloads the video to the 32GB hard drive storage, it will be playing from the Chromebook, not the internet.
