Used to be an annual resident survey. Haven’t see one in a few years. Or did they just stop them because of negativity? districtgov.org show’s results from 2016. Nothing since then.

We filled them out every year since 2010. Not one of our hopes and dreams we filled in ever happened, so maybe developers couldn’t make any happen, or many were asking for the moon, and it just wasn’t worth wasting the print money..l

Well, we did get a Home Goods store. Even way back then, people were pleading for Costco. Still waiting.

Thank you for the link. Considering the emotions often seen surrounding deed restrictions, I found question 12 interesting:

"In an effort to educate residents, would you attend a meeting that explained the role of the Community Standards Department in the enforcement of deed compliance and external architectural modifications? If yes, would you prefer a daytime, evening or weekend meeting?"

43% said they were not interested.

Not really interested in what residents have to say so why do an annual survey?

Last thing we need is a Costco.

Bring back the Ho Down and Golf Festival. The current golf festival is nothing more then a glorified $25 club fitting.

Costco doesn't have Villages in their radar at all. Through the grapevine, I found that they aren't even considering this area because it's not worth it. Much like Navy Federal (which one would think would make sense with the veteran population) they also don't feel there is enough to fund a branch in The Villages.

Have to realize that even though TV is large, it has surrounding areas that have to be taken into account. That does change demographics for any corporate planner.

Since these kinds of surveys are costly, I guess the CDD decided to save the money. The CDD’s cost-benefit trade off to continue the annual survey was likely poor.

Most residents are given a survey after home design, after closing, and after one year warranty. We were not given any of these. Why? Probably because they feared what we would say.

Though I haven’t checked and don’t know where to look, the annual survey was replaced by opinions/suggestions submitted online. Since we’ve been happy here for the last 18 years (I know, don’t believe me?), I haven’t felt the need to use anything, survey or otherwise. I certainly don’t consider TOTV a source of information over the District office.

The resident’s survey ended about 3/4 years ago. But there was a survey before the First Responders Recreation Center was built. There is a survey out on the District website asking seeking ideas for the rebuild of the Paradise Recreation Center.

Some of you are right, the owners never pay attention to the requests on the survey.I guess that’s why so many people keep moving here .

I wonder how the demographics differ in that Sam's seems busy as does BJ's, so why a hard 'no' from Costco...other than existing competition?

Old people don’t frequently need mass quantities of product. Insufficient population and saturated market with BJ and Sams .here.

Just drive the hour if it’s so special

The children, grandchildren and families of the original developers do their own research and develop as they see fit. Thus, what you see south of State route 44 is what you got. Newcomers seem to like it as The Villages continues to grow rapidly.
