Dishwasher tiled in….suggestions on who can get it out

Need suggestions on who to hire.
We want to replace our dishwasher but tile had been laid in front, about one half inch higher. If we just buy a new one, not sure if regular installer could get the old one out. Ideally it would be pull old one and break tile if necessary, then tile under, then install new one. Problem is how to get this done quickly as the drain is shared with kitchen sink.

Anyone else gone through this? Suggestions?

It's very doable, shared drain is not an issue. You might end up with a destroyed old dishwasher which doesn't matter.

I installed a new dishwasher under similar conditions. I had no problem turning the old dishwasher's levelers all the way to the top, which left enough clearance to remove it. Same with the new dishwasher going back in. I would guess my tiles were about 1/2 inch as well, but not sure.

Had a similar problem in a previous house years ago. In my case the counter tops were Formica, and I was able to break the glue to the cabinets and get about a 1/4-inch additional clearance to get the old dishwasher out. I would NOT break out the tile unless you have spare tiles ON HAND. I would also NOT tile the existing space until you make sure the additional height will not interfere with the installation of the new dishwasher.
NOTE: you will need to wait at least 1 day for the new tile to set before installing the dishwasher.

Thanks for all of the info. Have a guy coming to take the old one out. Then we can measure and make a decision on laying tile in the space before ordering a new dishwasher.

If the front or back leavers were where there were no leavers, wouldn’t you think they could set them a 1/2” longer? But I do understand they might not be able to do that because the 2 deeper ones might not get to the back where they need to be. I’m guessing they’ll have to put more tile under it to make it all the same depth.I think they original installers did a quickly job!

What a shame The Villages doesn't install flooring by putting it underneath all the cabinets in kitchens and bathrooms.
If they did it the correct way, you wouldn't have this problem.
It's just another way of cutting corners to save a few bucks and it's very annoying.

Not a problem.
Cut the feet off and slide it out.
Use a sawsall if you can’t handle a hacksaw.
Unscrew the feet on the new one and slide it in a little, replace the back feet, slide it all the way in and screw in the front feet. Use a piece of the shipping carton to protect the floor.
