I have a slate/stone shower, not really sure what the stone is. I would like to install a mounted soap dish and a small towel bar. Any recommendations. Thank you

Use gorilla two sided mounting tape. It should hold up to the water in the shower and is rated to hold up to 15 pounds.

Good luck : )

Agree.

No drilling.

The two sided mounting tape is a good idea, but I would use lightweight, unbreakable items. I wouldn't attach something that will shatter if it falls off the wall. Also, I wouldn't use those suction cup things.

While the previous suggestions will probably work for a while I would be leery of using any type of peel and stick on slate. As long as the holes for the soap dish and towel rack are not near the edge of the slate, i would drill holes and use plastic inserts. If the holes are real close to the grout lines, I would drill into the grout lines, and use the plastic inserts. Drilling holes close to the edge of the slate may cause it to fracture.

I would not trust any type of "stick on tape" in a shower. Drill holes and insert plastic anchors. Much more permanent.

I have used the Command 3M products for several projects, especially the hooks. It is a good product and worth a try. I would use the lightweight plastic towel bar and soap dish, not the metal ones. But they are not foolproof and they can eventually fall off of the wall. Also, I found that, if you keep them stored for too long before using them, they will lose their adhesion. I had a package of 3M plastic hooks that were in a drawer for about a year, and they wouldn't stick to anything.

Yes - use a drill and use screws to adhere to wall - just make sure it is secure.

We've been using a Command Strip Caddy that is held on by 4 water resistant command strips. It works well and the command strips make it very easy to remove if you ever decide you don't want it anymore.

I wouldn't worry about stick on tape. As long as it's only a towel and soap, what's the worst that could happen? If they fall off, you just stick them back up again. It's not like vase precious it going to be placed on it.

LOL. When I put something up, I like to say "that's not going anywhere".

Bed bath and a beyond sells a nice solid soap dispenser that does mount with special two sided tape. Clean the area with alcohol, dry and mount carefully. The dispenser comes in two or three dispenser units, is plastic, opens at the top, and is nice looking. Don’t get the cheap ones. Ours is chrome and clear. Had them for years in both showers. Love um. Clean and easy to use.
Btw, our three dispenser unit mounts as one piece. They were over $70.
