I had to change the battery on my Cateye velo 7 speedometer on my Yamaha cart. What tire size do I use to set up the unit?

It should be marked clearly on tire just like a car

It's based on the outermost circumference of the tire. If you don't know how google cateye velo 7 instructions. Read and follow. This is much easier than trying to explain it all.

Put a chalk mark at the bottom of the tire at 6 o’clock and also mark a line on the garage floor right below. Put the cart in neutral and push it in a straight line until the mark on the tire is again right at 6 o’clock and again make a mark on the garage floor. Now measure the exact distance between the two marks on the garage floor and you will have your answer.

It's a 10-inch tire but on the cat eye the choices for tire sizes are only 28 26 24 20 18. It also allows you to input centimeters. I know these speedometers are frequently used in golf carts. If anyone has a cat eye speedometer how did you set it up? (program it)

It looks like it wants entry in CM. 10 inches = 25.4 CM, so 26 seems to be a good choice.

:) Sounds good and you can check the accuracy with an app on your phone.

If the cart in front of you is doing 18 mph you can feel comfortable passing them and not getting a ticket.

My Striker Speedo is set at 1600 for the 10 inch tire. Sound like the new brand of Speedo they are using gives you different choices for the 10 inch tire. Stop into the dealer where you purchased and ask them.
Interesting that this is even an issue in that the Striker retains this information in memory while changing the battery. One would assume this brand you have would do the same.

:agree:This works. The Velo 7 wants centimeters though so if your measurement is in inches, divide by .3937 and enter that number. As an alternative, with your tires inflated to their 'normal' pressure, measure from the pavement to the center of the hub/wheel of the front, driver's side. Then double that number & multiply by pi (3.1417). As above, if your measurement is in centimeters, enter that number. If it's inches, divide by .3937.

You can get an app for iPhone that tells you your speed. Simple.

Wrong, I believe it wants circumference in cm. 10", or 25.4cm, is approximate radius. For circumference it's twice the radius times pi: 2 x 25.4 x 3.14 = 159.5
