With the new 18 club rule in 2023, who is going to carry 18 clubs? Do you think they will make golf bags that hole 18 clubs?

Easy answer: No one, since they haven't changed the rule from 14 club max

According to the Golf Handicap Association (GHA), in 2023, you can use 18 clubs. I have never heard of the GHA, so I don't know to whom it applies.

I wish the PGA Tour would allow 18 clubs, because I'm sure that I could then be competitive, and win a lot of money. I just can't score well with only 14 clubs.

Still an easy answer: NO ONE!!!!!!

The rules of golf are set by the USGA in cooperation with the R&A, and in 2023 you will get to use the same 14 clubs you have been permitted since God-knows-when. PERIOD.
I never heard of this bogus "GHA", but they have absolutely no authority to make or change the rules of golf. From their own website:

GHA’s new rule changes are sure to either be loved or hated by golfers and tournament organizations worldwide. These are not your normal small incremental changes. These changes fundamentally change the way the game is played in many aspects.

From increasing the maximum number of clubs golfers can carry from 14 to 18 clubs, eliminating 2 stroke out of bounds, preferred lies in the fairway (no more divots!), lift rake and place in bunkers, 3 putts max, no limit on driver COR, MOI, increasing max driver cc’s from 460 to 600cc’s, free relief from roots and rocks, no groove restrictions, allowing alignment sticks, any type of green reading material, elevation and information processing devices and making golf carts legal for tournament play, these changes are sure to turn explode head

This must be some kind of practical joke or deranged trolling. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!!!
If you are playing any kind of tournament under USGA rules, don't even think about employing the utter garbage lasted above.

MODERATOR - please close this false thread.

The USGA did NOT increase the club limit. Here are the new rules for 2023. Don’t know what he Golf Handicap Association is.

Look it up. The USGA has out lived its usefulness. I'm fairly certain the GHA won't be their replacement, but sooner or late, somebody will. As it is, the Pro Tours have essentially created their own rules, for better or worse.

I did before I made the post, and again just now. After the 3rd page on google, where it was not listed, i stopped scrolling.
With the cooperation of the USGA and the R&A, it will be a while til the USGA is deemed irrelevant.

LOL! Contact us are just email addresses.
They want to create an alternative to the USGA/GHIN, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are related to the LIV tour in some sort of way to break the monopoly of the USGA with an alternative system for amateur golfers. . .

What some people with too much money and time on their hands decide to do as enjoyment is beyond me.

I’m still trying to figure out how to consistently hit the 12 clubs and the putter I put in my bag now. Five more sticks would needlessly over complicate an already very difficult game.

I suggest the USGA add a new “Birdie Juice” ruling where each player making a birdie requires their playing partner to drink a shot. Of course the rules need to be very exact as to what liquor type, brand, size, cold or room temp etc. the shot needs to be.

With 6" holes, gimmes, mulligans, etc. let's just change the rules to where you just write down the score you wish you had on each hole, compare cards, settle best and adjourn to the bar! Think of the time and expense you will save.

OR...play the game by the rules!!

Too late. Majority of TV golfers already play by these rules.

The reason for the club rule was because of the caddies. In the early 1900's caddies were carrying 26+ clubs, and having a hard time doing so.. Thus the 14 club rule. What real difference does it make? Most people can't use one!

Does have a certain symmetry 18 holes 18 clubs.

However what happens if you get made at a club and throw it in a lake to be eaten by gators?

Under USGA rules (the only rules), you're out 1 club for the rest of the round.

Under bogus "GHA" rules (which mean nothing), you probably get to replace it with 3 more clubs and get 2 shots of your choosing hit by a PGA pro:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

If that is two shots at each hole I might be able to finally reach par.

They may be. Take the turnpike to 429, head south to Western Way, enter the Disney grounds and follow the signs to Fantasyland.:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:
