I would check with your insurance carrier. They should provide you with optometrists in your plan.

Thanks but don't care about being in plan, do care about who is good.

Dr. James Russell at Hindsight in Pinellas Plaza. He is attentive, discusses options, and does not talk down to me or try to upsell me. For Medicare or most eye care plans, no out-of-pocket. You can take the prescription to any eyeglass store. I highly recommend him.

We have been going to Lange eye for many years, and they are associated with St. Lukes, which worked out very well with my cataract surgery and follow up visits. Very pleased with the care at both locations.

My wife and friends have been going to Lake Eye Associates - The Villages, on 44, just east of Brownwood. Very pleased with them.

Ocala Eye. Top notch. We go to Dr. Jodie Armstrong, but they have other excellent staff.

I went to Dr. Jodie Armstrong at Ocala eye. The problem I had was the technicians who work the machines that check your eyes before you see the doctor. I have optic migraines and my eye muscles adjust very slowly. I told the technician not to shine the lights in my eye's first because it causes me to have migraines. Typically that is the last thing I tell them to do but they still did the tests in the order they preferred. Also they went really fast with the what looks better one or 2. The prescription they gave me was bad and I had to go to Lang because the glasses I got from Ocala eye were no good. When I tried to talk to Dr. Jodie Armstrong she was unsympathetic and the prescription was just no good. I didn't find that she or the technician at Ocala eye listened to my concerns throughout my eye exam. Wouldn't go back. The day I was there they were rushing through.

If you have a serious eye condition I would recommend Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. They are rated top in the United States and do cornea transplants and other eye surgeries.

I highly recommend Dr. William Ramsay. He is available in The Villages at Clear View Optix on Saturdays. The owner of Clear View is an optician and grinds lens at his store. You will have the advantage of having the doctor and the craftsman making your glasses, together in one place. Dr. Ramsay provides a thorough exam and Ron, the optician provides excellent service.

You can schedule the exam directly with Dr. Ramsay at 352-259-1786 or with Clear View at 352-259-6789. Clear View Optix is at 8481 SE 165th Mulberry Ln at the far north end of The Villages, just short of CR 42.

I have some specific needs with my glasses and have had problems in the past with the lack of a connection between the doctor and the optician. Dr. Ramsay and Clear View met all my needs and were a pleasure to deal with.

Dr. Zeini at Eyes in The Villages (Advanced Surgical & Medical Eye Care). 3521-753-9888. Very caring, qualified and thorough practice. I've been with the practice for over 20 years! Both my wife and I have had cataract replacement surgery, we both had multifocal lenses implanted. We are very happy with the results. Dr. Zeini explained the pluses and minuses of the alternatives and while he recommended the multifocal lenses he didn't push them.
