We have a Gardenia, built in 2006. It has the two-plug floor receptacle that was commonly installed at that time.

DW and I just bought matching motor driven recliners, and the plugs are too big to fit into the recess. I'm thinking of putting one chair on each side with an end table and lamp directly over the receptacle. Obviously I'll need some sort of extension/power strip coming out of the receptacle to plug both chairs into, and either plug the lamp into the remaining floor socket, or also into the power strip.

If you faced a similar situation and have come up with a clever idea to use the receptacle and hide all of the ugly wires and plugs, I'd love to see how you did it.

TIA

The original solution involved having a loveseat with a center console area that hide all of the wires. The current solution has 2 recliners and a table. One word of caution, be careful how the wires are routed, one of the recliners is also a rocker and a couple of times the wires were almost cut when thet were accidently moved.

I got the rechargeable battery pack which doesn't require the floor plug. Then I put the sofa over the floor plug.

Do you also have a sofa in the room?

If so, plug an extension cord into the floor, and the chairs can be plugged into the extension cord. Put all of that under the sofa...

If no sofa, find a table that the wires/plugs can fit under...

Where is the battery pack located?
In the furniture?
Free standing battery pack?
Other?
