Hi all,

I've read in some threads (I should have bookmarked them) about a "Wind Abatement Examination" for the roof (or something similar to that) when you are getting an insurance quote.

Could someone please let me know what the exact term is? Do you ask the insurance company to do it? Do you hire someone to do it and get a certificate or something?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

To answer your other question, call your insurance company and ask what their requirement is for proof of 'wind mitigation' construction.

It’s called the “uniform mitigation verification inspection form”.

I would guess most home inspectors do it for homeowners - but i would wonder if they would do that as a stand alone?
