I have been using Xiidra for dry eye for about three years. I was diagnosed with dry eye when being worked up for cataract surgery. I have had no problems using it; sometimes the eye drop burns and causes immediate tearing. But that goes away quickly.

I have taken it . It is rather expensive, with insurance, about $ 95.00 for 60 . It burns a little bit but causes my tear ducks to produce more liquid to lubricate the eye. It was recommended and prescribed by my dr. I use it for scratchy, itchy eyes. Dry eyes.

I have had a radial keratotomy in the 1980's. Cataract surgery circa 2017 and some follow up surgery in 2021 (I forget the name, uses a laser to give more light). Also radiation to my head for throat cancer. My whole head is dry as a bone.
Anyway, I've had very dry eyes and have tried a lot of things. I have not tried Xiidra due to the price. I do use a bilberry supplement daily that seems to help temper my dry eyes and then I use an over the counter (varies with my mood). Also, I have a gel mask (for sinus) that I heat up, put over my eyes for 2 minutes a day, and that helps quite a bit - as do hot showers. Off topic from your question, but just my experience. My dry eyes were horrid, now more of a nuisance.

Wow! Same history with RK, cancer, and cataract surgery. So far I've only used otc drops for dry eye. I will give the bilberry supplements a try. Thanks for mentioning them.
