Misprint, they meant Cosco not target.

The traffic is going to be horrible.

I never really noticed any target parking being overwhelming, except for Black Friday, and Christmas shopping.

Doesn’t effect me one way or another, not a Target or Wal Mart shopper.

So another store out of the Villages so will stick with the one I can get to by golf cart.

Publix once a week for groceries, Costco once a quarter for bulky household goods and supplies, and Amazon for everything else. I really try to do as little shopping as possible -stopped “window shopping” years ago - like having very little clutter in home.

That's still 40,000 square feet smaller than the Targets I'm used to. I'm surprised they did not go bigger.

What I want to know is it going to be a Target, or a Costco. Both were mentioned as being built at that corner? They are both good stores but I hope it’s a Costco so I won’t have to travel an hour.

Surprised developers would put any big retail in at 466A instead of waiting to provide a Target or Walmart down by Middleton; the wave of the future, where 8200 households consisting of single-family homes, duplexs and apartments (as approved) are going in for under the 55's. (I get the need for workers to care for the oldsters, but it's a sugar coating on what is going to come.) The "bubble" will eventually float away.

Target is being built at Trailwinds, not COSTCO. But a COSTCO will be coming to Clermont, which is about a 50 minute drive away. They are currently behind schedule.

So wait, Home Depot near Powell and 466A, Winn Dixie at 466A and Micro Racetrack, and now Target in the middle on 466A. Driving near there will be unbelievable.

Your key comment here is ,”wave of the future”. I’ve lived in the Villages 14 years. It’s been my observation that retailers build in locations where there are established homes. They want their shoppers there now.
I’m sure Middleton will eventually get stores for their residents. But 8200 of you might be driving for a while.

Sounds good. Need to get more down by the new Middleton area. Working parents are not going to want to run to this or the Spanish Springs area when little Johnny comes home and says "Teacher wants a poster presentation with colors and sparkles on Thanksgiving. Tomorrow".

The Target is going into Trailwinds, an independent developer. It is NOT under the control of our Villages Developer. Besides, Target made this decision, not anyone else.

that's the hardest route to travel, not only because of traffic, but also dodging golf carts, trying not to hit anyone. the lanes on morse are narrow @ times, you really need to watch out. or I do, anyway.

As a newer poster, You know family areas already exist in TV. Beside, will you really drive all the way to Middleton, or just complain from afar. Residents complain about no shopping, now shopping arriving and complaining of traffic starts.

It's a CRIME that you put CRIME coordinates on the Spanish Springs Area. Where do you reside Kojack? Do you need a LoJack at your residence?

Most people realize that the majority of the residents of the area you mention are carrying a heater so there is probably less CRIME up Yonder. I base my facts?? on the same source you base yours??? Mars or Uranus! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

I concur, as a new Villages resident, I try to avoid Spanish Springs and that super congested shopping area along Highway 27 - takes forever to drive there, traffic is a mess, and has a very congested feeling I don’t like - so much easier to hop on the turnpike and head down to Clermont/Winter Garden to shop.

That "feeling" you speak of should improve when all that construction is completed. I agree that right now it is a bear navigating that corridor on 441/27. Just have to be patient for the new and improved roadway to be done.

I don't know how my name got attached to the quote in your post but that was not me who said I stay away from the 441/27 corridor because of all the traffic. I travel to that corridor so often, I call it my "stomping ground".

Definitely not a fan of Amazon but we are kind of forced to use it nowadays. Also not a fan of Costco but very happy their is a BJ’s in the bubble now. We do go to Publix for the majority of groceries.

Keeping clutter down is good, we do much better doing it in our southern home than out northern home.
