We want to visit Spain in 2023 as its our 25th wedding anniversary. When is the best time to go? Has anyone booked with Insight Vacations? Since there aren't any direct flights from here, any suggestions on best flights to consider. Should we fly into JFK, stay overnight and then fly out next day?
Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

There are direct flights out of Miami.
I would go anytime out of European holiday season.
Very popular destination for the rest of Europe, and some of the coastal resorts are not for the faint hearts, if you are not keen on youth, bars, noise and drunks!
Very hot in summer.
Lot of history, and wonderful old buildings.
Wife and I usually drive down from UK ( we live there) when we visit, and go in late spring, and take pot luck on hotels.
Food is good.

I’ve been three times - always in either March or April - perfect weather - there are so many sub-regions within Spain, each with its own culture/food/customs - Spanish people are friendly and social - just had to adapt to eating dinner VERY LATE - but love the tapas scene prior to dinner.

Well, I never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it
They don't abuse it
Never gonna lose it
I can't refuse it, mhm

Damn, beat me to it. Now I must delete. Did you know Kenny Rogers was in a sixties psychodelic band?

I can remember the First Edition but can't remember their song that got a lot of radio play.

OP: We went to Spain in March on our own. Weather was great. We went to Granada first and then took the train to Sevilla. We are returning in 2023 to spend 10 days in Madrid and Barcelona with a “Road Scholar” tour group. This will be our 4th trip with Road Scholar. I do not know anything about the tour group you mentioned. I am sure you will enjoy Spain, however you do it.

That would be "The First Edition"...
But "I've Never Been to Spain" was recorded by "3 Dog Night"...

Well, at least four replies offered a little information about Spain, the other 9 are from The Obscure Music Appreciation Society!
Not a bad average for TOTV

And one complaining about the response ratio...

Check out lemonvalleyholidays.com. We have used them twice to go to Andalucia. They book your hotels, train tickets, city tour tickets, museum reservations, alhambra, guides--anything you desire. It's not a group tour, and we prefer being on our own. The tour took us to Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, Malaga. You can choose what kind of hotel you want. We chose boutique hotels, and they were small and unique. One time we went over Christmas/New Years, and the other time was in February. Andalucia is called "the frying pan of Spain" because of the heat. Those two times of year were very mild. Malaga in February was actually sunny and 70s. I probably wouldn't go there after March or April. I can't say about planes because we did not go from Florida.
Lemon Valley will also set up tours where you do your own driving, and they have tours of "white villages" which we haven't done yet but want to.
Also, to add to the info: when you get to your first stop on your personalized "tour," there will be a package waiting you with all your tickets, an itinerary, and a book with pictures and information about all your destinations. I still have our books. It's one of the few places we want to go back to even a third time.
