How to protest to TV architectural people?

One of my neighbors has done something really ugly on the outside of their lanai. This is not an issue of personal taste, but rather they've added a piece of metal along the bottom edge of the screening. Is this something the architectural people should be looking at? If so, how does one contact them?

I'd take a picture and then drive over to the Architectural Review office to voice my concern.

You can call the Deed Compliance office at 751-3912 to discuss your concerns. If warranted, they will send someone to check it out. They can also check to see if your neighbor previously submitted an architectural change request for this project and if it was approved/denied. If the change was inside the lanai, it may not have required a change request.

If it is in the back of the house but inside the lanai screen, and the issue is 'ugly' more than structural, it may not be a covenant violation. I have seen many lanais that have solid trim or other product in the bottom "panel" of the screen to keep out dust and dirt.

maybe sneak over and add some pink flamingo stickers or stick a few stand-ups in your yard to distract the view - that might even bring the authorities over.
Then you explain why you did it, pull em up, and take em back up north.

We just moved into a new neighborhood and one neighbor, whose unit is on a main road (corner lot) just installed a bird cage that is white. I first noticed it a quarter mile away as I was doing my daily walk. Sticks out like a sore thumb. All the other birdcages are brown, which seems to blend into the surroundings. Looks tacky to me.:shrug:

Aj. What's interesting is that for the longest time, the developer only used white framing for lanais and birdcages. It's just in the last year or two that the brown/bronze has been used in new construction, and, even then, pretty sparingly. Personally, I like the bronze better... We switched to that when we added on a birdcage. Now, we are one bronze cage/lanai among four white ones so we sorta stick out. Oh well.

Oh, come on now! Floridians are deriding pink lawn flamingos? I really get a kick out of the alligators done with Christmas lights and the Santa Claus sleigh being pulled by dolphins.

Up north here we have used them to flock a couples yard and have been flocked ourselves. Lotta fun, but not for real ornaments.

The real ones are pretty but I just say no to plastic.

I think your post got hijacked so back on topic I am sorry to say that I believe that you are referring to what I heard called splash panels. Their purpose is to keep the water out when it rains. Unfortunately they are not uncommon and perfectly legal. Even though you said otherwise, it is personal taste especially when a learned group of people think different than you do. They do keep the rain from splashing into the lanai and personally I see nothing wrong with them. They are just different than what you are used to seeing.
