I would like to change the three locksets plus one deadbolt in my home. I want the same key for all three sets. I would like to install something better than Home Depot. Has anyone done this recently?I don't mind ordering online . Can anyone recomend a brand and model? I will install myself. I have seen the keypad type for the main entrance but unsure of the advantages.

Go to consumer reports for information on the "best" locksets, I really like to ones we use, going on 10 years old and the keypads and electronics still work great, but I do not know if this qualifies as being the best. BTW these were purchased at a big box store.

My opinion. We have the Quick Set locks installed by the builder. They are rated as pretty good. To change the key, look it up on the internet. It is easy to do. You will need to purchase a key that is cut and have or purchase the tool to change the lock. Better locks? There are better locks. Reality we think someone breaking into you home cares about the fact that you just painted and spent weeks picking the perfect color. They do not care. No need to go through the door. Windows are likely easier. Whatever people have, not likely to stand up to a crowbar.
I read somewhere the police will come over and make security suggestions.

Yes, Sumter County will do a 'security check', we had it done and made several changes to the house. For example, larger plates on the door jams (ours are 18 inches long) and 2.5 inch screws, a eye lens to the garage door, a switch to allow the garage lights to be turned on inside the house, a deadbolt on the garage door and removable stops so the sliders cannot be lifted out, as well as auxiliary locks on the sliders.
