You should be able to hold down certain keys to go into SAFE mode, sorry I do not remember the keys. If you can get into SAFE mode, you should have options to repair. If SAFE mode does not work, there are several people in TV that help with computer problems, as well as some outside companies. I wish I had kept a list of the people, but I am hoping another poster will have this information.

I did a quick search: There are a few different ways to start in Safe Mode on Windows 10, but the easiest way is to use the F8 key. To start in Safe Mode, press and hold the F8 key as your PC starts up. Keep pressing the key until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu. From the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode with Networking.
Hope this helps.

When you say "turns on" does that mean that the screen lights up? Or does the switch itself light up but nothing happens on the screen? I know this sounds elementary but often the most obvious things are the things we check the least. If the screen just remains blank, check your monitor's power and connections.

If something happens on the screen but isn't what you want to happen, press and hold the on-off switch. After several seconds it will shut the system off. Try turning it back on again. I do this occasionally when I get the dreaded blue screen (actually, on mine its more of a fuzzy gray screen) on start-up.

VillageTinker gave good advice. F8 should get your computer to boot up in safe mode. If not, try F10 (which works on my Hewlitt-Packard).

Good luck!

If this is a laptop, try removing the battery, or, if that is not possible, unplug the laptop and allow the battery to completely discharge.

Also, to get into the SAFE mode, I think you need to continue pressing and releasing the F8 key while the computer is booting, not press and hold it.

Power off computer. Power on, Wait ten seconds and power off. Three or four times should put it in recovery mode and repair itself

The battery may have overheated. Hold the Power button until it shuts down, let it cool for a while. Elevate it so that the fan can blow the heat from below. Restart the computer. This worked for my Sony.

"Bring it in", probably?

I have a sony computer with windows 10. It has stopped working it will turn on but that's about it. Can anyone help? My suggestion would be that you take it to MMD computer repair in Lady Lake, 2 blocks south of 466 intersection on the east side of 441. Excellent repair facility, very fair in what they charge.

I own 2 of these machines. I have done numerous repairs, both hardware and software. These are great laptops, but cannot reliably upgraded to Windows 11.

They can be fixed and updated to the newest version of Windows 10 which will be supported by Microsoft for about 2 more years.

I repair these laptops for $40/hr. plus parts. Many times they need more memory or solid state hard drives to bring the speed back up. If you have a recent backup, restoration is much faster a cheaper.

Contact me to discuss your situation at what you had on the machine for quess about what it will take to get the machine working again.

I have always brought my computer issues to MMD on 441 in Lady Lake (since 2003.)
There are few things I attempt to fix myself.
Good luck with getting your computer working.

I have had very good luck with MMD. My Windows 10 machine would freeze, became very slow which required a reload of the system. They took care of the malady with a smile.

Hi,
I have used Jacob's Computers on Main Street (#102) in Wildwood. He has been there for years and is very good. Just had him fix my cell phone, too.

Encourage your children to have grandchildren and then call up the grandchildren for computer or cell phone repairs.

it could be your video card, if that's it, if you have an HDMI cable, hook it to your TV and you may see the computer screen there.
Tinker gave good advice too
