When the balloon made it to the Atlantic, after having traversed the entire width of the US, wouldn't it have completed it's mission and sent the data back to China Already? Does any news report mention our ability to block transmission over the week it was crossing the country? Shooting it down over the Atlantic seems kind of like shutting the barn door after the wolves have taken the sheep.
