I think there may be a family of them living in a gopher tortoise hole in the gopher tortoise preserve on Belle Meade in Woodbury. Several times, I've seen what looks like a couple of pups playing near a big hole in the middle of the field, but they're too far away to make out for sure, and I keep forgetting to bring binoculars on my walks. If they're not foxes, my next guess would be rats. I sure hope it's foxes! But if they're pups I've never seen the mama.

That is a beautiful shot which is terrific for identification. Where did you see the fox?

Beautiful shot of an unusually marked fox. In the photo he appears to have some red markings too. Handsome indeed.

A little bit of "country" in this urban area. Even has it's own golf course named after it. Pretty dog.

I don’t think he’ll reveal the exact location because then there would be dozens of lookie-loos trampling the area !

I was walking on Pinellas before daylight last week. I saw a fox crossing the street between two golf courses. Tried to get a picture but he wouldn’t wait for me to catch up and disappeared around bushes and a pond.

I saw my first gray fox last year near my northern home. I had to look them up as I had no idea they existed. They are an entirely different species than the red fox and they are the only member of the canine family that can climb trees.
