Y'all need to come out to Brownwood on Friday the 25th to see a new band to the Villages that ROCKED Spanish Springs last night. HIGH TIDE is the name and this three piece band was Fatastic Real Rock and Roll. So if you're tired of bands saying they play rock and the hardest song they do is a Jimmy Buffett melody then get on down to Brownwood Paddock Friday night. We are riding the HIGH TIDE for sure. :bigbow:

You have my attention. Which artists / songs does the band cover. We crave classic rock with a harder edge than we've seen here.

Now, I am not sure if I viewed the correct High Tide on Youtube. Apparently, there is more than one. Can anyone help clarify?

There does seem to be more than one High Tide band since the one in SW Florida has a gig elsewhere on Saturday night
For new bands, I like to see a youtube video (seems everyone has one) or facebook page before heading out , so I know what to expect.

The group with the gold oval logo appears to be the one the OP is referring to, if the videos for Welcome to the Machine (Pink Floyd), Rooster (Alice in Chains), Hey Joe (Hendrix) is them. Seems like any other decent band I've seen at the Brownwood that does that era. There are some good ones that show up.

I saw HighTide for the first time at Spanish Springs and they were fantastic! Santana, ZZ Top, and CCR are just a few of the covers I remember them playing. I took a few videos but can’t figure how to post them on here. Mike Hayes, the lead singer and guitarist, is amazing!

Penta is the closest to Classic Rock with a few Hard rock songs, The Hooligans is British Rock and my all time favorite

Based on a quick listen to their youtube songs, I wouldn't care for them.
By the way if you really want to hear rock, it's not this kind of stuff. Rock and Roll is Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard etc.

We love going to the squares but most of the music is "meh" to me.
Music is very subjective. I don't consider that old music you mention rock.
For me, rock is Metallica, Foo Fighters, U2, Green Day, Led Zeppelin, Sammy Hagar and Van Halen, etc.
I'm tired of the old stuff they play over and over, I really enjoy newer music.
The Hooligans are the best band that plays at TV. But that's just my opinion.

they are a different band. If you look up Hightide with Mike Hayes it is totally different and appear to be more in line with OP's description of the music.

If it's the correct video I saw, for some reason or another, I can't stand the base player, too much fakery in him...
I pass!

It’s not a band per se, it’s a guy named Mike Hayes. Mike Hayes and High Tide. He sings and plays guitar. He’s good.

Saw them last night at Brownwood. They would definantly be a good addition to the rotation. I would like to see some of the lesser talents eased out, but they probably get paid less.

I guessed I was wrong after a few posts.
Bit like advertising a group called The Teenagers, and leaving out Frankie Lymon!

Stopped by Lake Sumter Landing to check out High Tide tonight after my evening swim. Was only planning on listening to a few songs and head home for dinner after the 8:00 break. They were great, so I grabbed some tacos from Lazy Mac’s and stayed until the show ended at 9:00. They are right up there with He Said, She Said (the band is no longer in the rotation) and The Hooligans as the best bands I have ever seen playing at the squares over many years. They played an excellent variety of music, but for me La Grange (ZZ Top) was the highlight. The guitar player was awesome! I will definitely go out of my way to catch their shows in the future.

Ughhh! Besides the Hooligans, does any band play music from this century?

When did the Hooligans start playing music from this century?
Last fall we saw them at LSL as Anti Idol. One of the alternate names they use. Most of what they played was 90's or later. Much of it was 2000 and later. Foo Fighters, Metallica, etc. The place was packed and people were standing the whole time like it was a rock concert.
Just shows, many people like newer music, instead of all that overplayed old crap. Not everyone wants to live in the past music wise.

FROM THE VILLAGES OWN WEB SITE:
High Tide is a world class musical group consisting of musicians from around the globe. Be amazed by this high energy Rock 'N' Roll band bursting with raw talent. High Tide, created by front man Michael Hayes, captures the audience with his guitar and vocal skills. The pure talent provides a non-stop party, which is why they are central Florida’s go to Rock 'N' Roll band.

Checked out some of their videos. Seems pretty run of the mill (Mony Mony - really?). If they were at Brownwood or Sawgrass where I could take my golf cart I would check them out. Otherwise, nope.

This was the first time I've heard of this band so we went over to Brownwood to see if they lived up to the newspaper ad of "high energy rock", While I was raised on VH, Dio, Ratt, Dokken and what I consider great rock, this band was solid. Female vocalist, keyboards, bass, drums and an unbelievable guitarist/singer, Mike Hayes. I would rank this guy in the top 5 I"ve ever seen on a local stage. I nearly cried when they covered Black Magic Woman by Santana. This guy has a sound that needs to be heard and plays the guitar better than anybody who comes to TV. Wide variety of cover tunes with good stage presence and tight grooves. Will see again just for the guitarist if anything. Set list will appeal to most.

They are playing Saturday evening at Spanish Springs, definitely going to make time to see a couple hours of the show.

With rock currently in a coma if not already dead, let's not separate into decades and argue which was best. I listen from Elvis to My Chemical Romance and enjoy them all. Got my first guitar at 12 and a Les Paul at 15 (he was a neighbor. Signed it for me with his Howdy greeting). In college, making some extra money playing I bought a Fender. Love all rock. Hoping it comes back. Notice any rock station today plays nothing newer than the early 2000's. Is there anything newer?

High Tide is good but not that good. The Hooligans got the gig at Epcot for a reason. They are very polished and refined.
