I saw a little bit of LIV golf. Very different feeling. Short pants, loud music and good golf. I couldn't find the next round.

LIV Boston was at a Club I used to manage. I've never seen golf fans have as much fun at a tournament, as they did at that event ... except maybe, the Waste Management event.

LIV did a spectacular job of putting on the tournament.

I am a regular PGA and LPGA tours watcher. I found the LIV event last week on the CW almost unwatchable.

Old PGA watching fogies better embrace the NEW golf.

IMO too much glitz, graphics, yada yada yada from the know it all’s, the side scores are OK but not comprehensive. I may grow into it, but I guess I’m a traditionalist at heart. The younger set will prob love it and that is LIVs target.

Watched every minute of LIV golf since it started. Being an avid golf fan for many years, particularly Ryder & President's Cup tourneys and "match/team play" format - I find LIV golf much more exciting and fun to watch. Started watching Bay Hill Thursday, a good part of the field was already done for the day as usual with 8 hours of golf play format. The shotgun start for LIV gets everybody out together for a 4 hour golf event. Party/music atmosphere gets loud on holes near the clubhouse, looking forward to attending upcoming event at Orange County National - and good times!

I have not watched any LIV. But based on some of the comments here, I will definitely give it a try. I stopped watching PGA a few years back. It just seemed to repeat itself week after week. Maybe LIV has found a way to make it fresh and exciting again. I suspect, just like Superbowl halftime shows, TV residents are not the target audience, and they are looking for long time viewership from younger folks.

All you folks saying the LIV events are this, that or the other thing ... have you been to one?

You shouldn't be making assumptions on what you read in GolfWeek.

The LIV Tour events put PGA events to shame, as a "family outing". There are games & challenges for kids of all ages. There's music, food and entertainment. The crowds are smaller and there's an opportunity to get up close and personal with the players.

ALL the players are in the practices areas, at the same time, due to the Shotgun Start. There's no waiting around for 4 hours to see your favorite, who may have a 2:30 pm Tee Time. There's no sitting around to the last minute, to see who wins ... it all happens in real time.

Way too many folks out there, have delusions about what golf is and how they relate to it. The vast majority of fans at a PGA Tournament, have never broken 100 in their lives, but they think by watching some PGA Tour player take 15 minutes to hit a putt, they'll improve their game.

People seem to think that "quiet" is necessary, for the greatest golfers in the world, to ply their trade. The WasteManagement Open began to change that and LIV golf is taking it another step.

Go to a LIV event and you'll see what golf for the masses is like. Have a few beers, wear cut off jeans and a T-Shirt and have some fun. Trust me, one LIV event and you won't ever go to a PGA Tour event again, unless it's a Major.

LIV Golf at Orange County National (Crooked Cat course) from 3/31-4/2/23; coverage on TV on The CW channel. Matches are played Friday, Saturday & Sunday (54 holes total), shotgun starts every day around 1PM.

How much did LIV Golf donate to Local Charities when at the International. How much did they pay the course to use it. It is a great venue for has beens and wanna be's. I am happy for all the new millionaires........but..........I would rather watch the competition golf and not social golf......

The Netflix series on the Full Swing brought this to light. The over the hill guys, bless them, have a place to go, no more pressure, they can now play Happy Golf, and make more, bless them. They cannot be blamed for taking the money.........just don't make it sound like its the same...
Like I said, a lot of people enjoy a circus atmosphere..........

The problem with golf is the coverage. The British stations do a better job and focus on shots and swings and interesting stuff. American coverage has too much chatter and not enough swing analysis. And Brandell Chamblee needs to stop pontificating, he is the boring one not the game. Big changes needed in coverage to make the game not about chatter and about analysis. Imagine a football game announcer just pontificating...change the channel

CBS lead analysts are: Trevor Immelman and Ian Baker-Finch

NBS lead analyst is: Paul Azinger

NBC/Golf Channel's lead analyst is: John Cook

Brandell Chamblee is a "studio analyst" who generally doesn't cover golf tournaments. He's sitting in a studio, offering analysis for a niche TV network, whose sole purpose in life, is to provide fodder for TV Golf Junkies.

When the BBC broadcast The Open Championship, it was like "watching golf on the radio".

PGA tour players owe LIV big time...PGA tournament prize money has increased substantially. All players get paid something, not just those that make the cut. 48 players going to LIV have made room for the bottom 48 players that would not even be on the tour.
LIV is a breath of fresh air. It was good seeing some of the best players in the world having fun and being with their families. I will definitely will watch future events.

So Cameron Smith, Phil Michelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka are all eligible to play in all the majors. In addition, the Masters will also have Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, Carl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen. Not exactly the over the hill gang. Add the fact the PGA is adopting some of LIV's strategies and it shows what happens when a monopoly runs into competition. It's now fun to watch McEilroy walk back some of his comments and how quiet Tiger has been. There is a market for both and why it has become a battle and why we are expected to take sides is way beyond me.

How much tradition paid your bills while you were raising your family?

A lot of tradition in my life, got up at 6am went to work in an office, worked 8-10 hours a day, worked harder than the person in the desk next to me to get the promotion or salary increase and saved/invested money to have a great retirement. Agree that people move for money and I probably would do the same but then shutup accept the decision you made and stop with the complaining about not getting money from your ex employer. Also stop saying LIV is competition, it is an exhibition with exhibitors paid up front and then their expenses paid on the back end no matter how badly they play.

Where the PGA continues to move to.

Where NBA, NFL, MLB, etc., already are.

Similar business model to the new PGA Tour.

Tiger played 9 Rounds on the PGA Tour last year and got $15,000,000 in "participation bonus" money.

They revised the overall viewership once they added those that watched via web stream. It certainly was a lot better event than the no name Honda. Honda was like watching a Web.com tournament. We are looking forward to the OC National event. Remember that was the first CW broadcast and was not well advertised. The Palmer Invitational had tee times from 7:45 to 1:20... Shotgun start and team aspect is a good addition.

You do realize that Tiger Woods won around $115 million in winnings over his 25 years of actively playing that's about $4.6 million per year...Now compare that to NFL, MLB, NBA contracts, LeBron James signed an annual contract for $130 million annually. Those greedy golfers.

I think you would be surprised at how popular golf is with the "younger set"...

My son in law was down 2 weeks ago (with my daughter) and all he wanted to know, prior to their arrival, was if I was able to get tee-times... We played 4 times in a week...

He also has a group of friends he plays with regularly...
