Thinking seriously on one of these. Wonder if anyone here has done it and where they placed it in a Yamaha? Back, Front? What kind did you get?

Why not just buy a nice Bose rechargeable unit that you can bring anywhere with you instead of making not too many friends with the boom box? Frowned upon even by me and I like loud music. We should consider those around us and many in our age bracket don't really like the real loud stuff in public. This is meant constructively.....live your life.

I use a UE Boom 2 Bluetooth speaker that sounds great. It is designed to fit in a cup holder. I mounted a water bottle cage (using zip ties) on the back roof support rail behind the driver and keep it there. It’s in a dry spot and out of sight so I don’t worry about it getting stolen. I bring it in the house every week or two to charge it.

The UE2 is a good speaker. It sounds great, is weather resistant and can easily be mounted or simply left in the cup holder (it’s a perfect fit).

A good portable bluetooth speaker is all you need . You do not need a smart BT speaker . Your smart phone will only be a foot away . Shop for good sound and battery life . I charge mine every 3 to 4 weeks . I put the speaker on the charger when I golf(no sound) and then I am good for 3 to 4 weeks .

Interesting. Now While I do value opinions, I will say the intent is to have a speaker setup that I can enjoy, not necessarily BOOM it but something entertaining (Lights as well) including the reduced issue of having to worry about someone grabbing the portable speaker (I didn't spring for the locking glove box option). @ElDiabloJoe, I like that look, thought I think due to the backup mirror/Backup Camera, I think it may work best in the back for me.

I have two Amp Caddy Pro speakers on one cart and two Amp caddy Max speakers on the other cart. They work great, clamp on to the roof supports easily, are water proof and seldom need recharge. I had a minor issue with two and the company replaced them completely - excellent customer service. The sound is excellent and you can synch two speakers in one cart if you desire. I highly recommend them - they can be purchased on Amazon - just search Amp Caddy Speakers. I also purchased their phone holder and it also works great.Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Ampcaddy-Playtime-Extended-Waterproof/dp/B07WHKZD8Y/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2EDI326M8BE35&keywords=amp+caddy+golf+cart+speaker&qid=1678619372&sprefix=amp+caddy%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExODFHMzZHTE83VEFQJ mVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjQ1NzY2MkQ4TzJMVkNOWlpTVyZlbmN yeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjQ5ODUyMVdPNlJJMjMxNk41TiZ3aWRnZ XROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05 vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=)

Just a note music in golf carts is offensive to others, the volume needs to be loud to hear it and frankly I don’t care to hear it. To me it’s likened to a radio at the swimming pool .

They are big, the music is behind you, and they can disrupt your view in the mirror. I bought from Villages Golf Cart a Bluetooth system the size of two small side view mirrors. They are screwed into the front side columns, and the wiring runs inside the columns. They let you play whatever you like through your phone. I was very impressed by the sound quality and volume, and quite a bit cheaper than the sound bars.

I removed top of dash, one screw under small Yamaha emblem. I installed an USB outlet, drilled a small hole on bottom of dash to align with plug of my Bose unit. Then I velcroed it under dash. Paired to Pandora. Works great and stays charged

I run an Exogear 500w unit, I mounted behind the seats using the roof mounts. Yes I had to make a custom bracket, but that was extremely quick and easy. my phone connects via BT and becomes the sound source. Easy wiring, etc. We love the unit

I bought a Ecoxgear sound bar from Amazon. Installation I did myself, probably the easiest installation I have ever done. The mounting brackets that come with it require drilling to mount on your cart, but I found a mount for it that is made specifically for my Yamaha Drive2, allows you to bolt it using the bolts on your cart that hold your roof on. I bolted it in the rear of my cart. The bar has a light the length of the bar on the back so you can use it as an extra tail light. Also has lights in the speakers. You have the option of changing the light colors or not using the lights at all. The Bluetooth feature works flawlessly. It has great sound and plenty of volume. Before I bought this I did what many suggested and used a portable JBL speaker. Sound quality was Ok at best. As far as worrying about someone stealing it? Highly unlikely since it is bolted in with 4 bolts that hold your top on. I would not leave my cart out over night, but I never did that before I installed the sound bar. It is of course pricier than a portable speaker but you get what you pay for. Again the sound quality is like night and day compared to a small portable speaker. It also comes with a remote. I love mine. I link it up with my iPhone and my music playlist. Again installation is a piece of cake, just 3 wires, pos neg and a ground wire. The wiring harness also has a fuse in line and it’s plenty long enough to reach your battery.

I like to listen to the radio more often than just music. I bought a custom-made system from The Radio Shop in Selma, Alabama. It has AM/FM radio, CD, Bluetooth w/hands-free calling, dome light and 4 speakers. It is made to fit the roof of my cart.

The Rockform bluetooth speaker has a very strong magnet which I mount right behind my head so since it is less that 12 inches from my ears I don't have to have the volume turned up loud to hear it. The magnet is so strong that there is no concern about it falling off. It is black so it does not stand out and if you didn't know it was there you would not notice it. Sound is very good.

Things are ssssooo loud around here, whether it is LOUD music pumped out of passing cars or at the swimming pool. Or the LOUD older golf carts. Or the LOUD fire trucks. Or the LOUD people at the swimming pool. Or the LOUD CLINK, CLINK of the Pickle's balls. I end up carrying large mickey mouse-type ear defenders with me.

That is a VERY good point. Many people have cataracts and they get extra blinded. One fine day someone is going to be blinded and end up in a head-on collision with the light bar golf cart. (poetic justice) And why are they NOT adjustable downward? That would seem SIMPLE to accomplish.

That's a 2 WRONGS do NOT make a RIGHT situation. It is WRONG to walk around older drivers day or night wearing black or gray clothing and NOT walking against traffic. It is also WRONG to punish EVERY vehicle or pedestrian with " FLAME-THROWING" and blinding white light.
........The answer would be for community service to stop the pedestrians wearing dark colors and give them a WARNING ticket of some kind. Plus I feel that community service NEEDS to PERFORM more USEFUL functions in this town. And the Police (which there are NOT enough of IMO) could require those light bars to be adjusted downward and again a warning ticket, but a more serious one.
........And before some people say that it would be a waste of the Police's time.......I say that whenever Police show a presence and word gets around that they are interested in things like Light Bars then they are accomplishing something. Their involvement in light bars could prevent that head-on collision that is SURE TO HAPPEN if people fail to adjust those lights downward. Remember the old days when police were ubiquitous and they were your FRIEND. Just a matter of budgets and priorities.

Some people BLASTING music at swimming pools are unconscious Neanderthals that think that because THEY like it loud that they are doing EVERYONE a favor. I listened to the conversations of 2 men at the swimming pool (one of which was the owner of the BASTING music) - their conversation was at about a 4th or 5th grade level and it was punctuated with laughter and guffawing that would have made Butthead and Beaves proud.

It does not move or bounce around and you cannot see it unless you get your head up there to look into the tray. I bought a 10 foot USB cord and ran it down the front pillar and into the glove box where I wired a USB plug. Sound quality is excellent and since it's plugged in it charges when the cart is turned on. Best part is that I can simply just detach the velcro and bring it with me if I need to.

For what it is worth (yes, even though I am the sound bar guy posted earlier), my Apple EarPods instantly reduce in volume when any ambient noises are generated, allowing me to hear normal conversations, sirens, warning signals, etc. without sounding as though they are muffled. They are noise-canceling, which is great!
