Can someone give me an estimate on what monthly bills comes to living in courtyard and/or patio villas, 2br/2bth, maybe around 1150-1190 sq. ft. pre-owned? I see estimates on houses with a cost of 250K but nothing smaller (unless I'm missing it).

Your costs would be somewhat less, but not a lot less. Taxes are based on your assessment and your lawyer will advise you of last year's tax amount. And whether you're a Florida resident and homesteaded would also affect your yearly tax bill. You are in a resale, so your bond may be paid. A bond payment can significantly increase your yearly taxes.

Of course everyone pays approximately the same amenities fee. Your water costs would be less if you are all rocked. There are many variables. Heating and cooling costs are very personal. We rarely use either. If you have a dehumidistat and leave during the summer months, that is a big cost savings.

It's true Chuck, when you swim with polar bears, nothing in Florida seems cold.

The monthly costs itemized here seem low to me. But then we're usually adding a sun tunnel, or doing some landscaping, or changing around something. And those types of costs are controllable depending on your budget.

DickY, that was exactly what I was looking for. I live on Long Island, so these numbers seem very affordable (and confirmation that I'm nuts for living here!!) - even with addition to car, food, medical, entertainment, etc. Thank you very much !

You will find the cost of living so much lower here than in NY that you will wonder why you didn't come years ago.

We are also from LI and find the costs for running the house so much cheaper than LI. What a diifference in taxes, LIPA and National Grid. Dicky Y gave you a good assessment of the general expenses for a patio villa.

Put the car in a snow bank this morning on the way to work...may just move the retirement date up!
