Irrigation question

ok guys let's stay ON TOPIC!

Pink 'PVC' used for irrigation. I'm not yet able to determine the size of the pipe out back that carries around to the front, however I noted than uncovering the breach, that the pipe appears ultra thin which doesn't make sense but it's TV.....

I plan on digging out a couple feet on both sides of the breach. Before I do this repair I'm wondering why this pipe is literally hand crackable? is this a 1 inch pipe or 1.25?

anyone that has "been there done that" are the answers I'm looking for, I really don't want opinions, banter, or any of the other segways that normally occur with posts in this forum.

You should be able to measure, use a "C" clamp, set to just be hand tight on the pipe, then remove and measure. As for being brittle, no idea. You will have a problem replacing a coupe feet of pipe as you will not have enough clearance for the connectors, unless you use some form of threaded union joint, probably not recommended for under ground use. IMHO, I would by several 90 degree elbows and put in a bend in the replacement pipe so that you can squeeze the replacement in to the section of the existing pipe. The other option is the black flexible pipe, if you can get the correct size.

Good Suggestion... yes the problem is the pipe being so substandard looks like about 4 ft of digging just to stand a chance.

In thr mean time I'm going to go buy a sprinkler before I have to replace the new sod

Except for this I'm going to have a hard enough time getting a standard coupler on the pipe without digging out 15 ft of a trench
