Some of these will not be posted.
Look at the site, look at the filters, educate yourself.

I went to the site & in 'filters' selected all. Then after looking at the results I went back & deselected 'all other - non criminal', & 'death investigation'. You may want to tweak the filters to suit you. Overall looks VERY quiet in my area.

I looked at the site and noticed that the locations weren't accurate.
"Note: This point has been randomly offset at the request of the agency to protect victim privacy. Zooming in on a location may cause the map pin to disappear."
So a crime in Oxford might show up in Wildwood.

This is from the article.....Due to privacy issues, some crimes — for example sex offenses, child abuse and homicides — will not be displayed.
I took English in college. I don't know how you could read that sentence and not understand sex crimes, child abuse, and homicides would not be displayed. They even use the phrase "for example" to help you understand what they mean.....

I turn the filters on for sex offenses and for homicide and SOME show up on the map.
Your education is worthless.

I live in The Villages and I am interested in home break-ins, golf cart thieves, etc. in my area. We all know that info on these types of crimes would not be reported by The Villages Daily Sun because it does not help the sale of homes in The Villages. My first look at the map revealed crimes in the commercial areas of The Villages but I could not find any crimes in the residential areas of The Villages. The earliest crime that I found was on 2/11/2023. It is hard to believe that there were no crimes reported within the residential areas of The Villages.

Interesting to see how much of The Villages is not in Sumter County. Most of the retail is in the Lady Lake area and this map does not show any of that.
I do see that south of 44 there is very little crime inside the borders of the villages, and you do see evidence of assault in Lake Sumter Landing. No doubt it reflects the more ruckus environment and bar fights we hear about up there versus the quiet and tranquil South.

Mr. Obvious here.....................make sure you expand the date within the "filters".
I did not study English in college, but I understand the map.
Good Luck.

Analyzing data available on The Villages District Gov website, the percentages of homesites within The Villages is 82% in Sumter, 11% in Lake, and 7% in Marrion County.

You're just not looking at the right site. There are numerous crimes (DUIs - both golf cart and auto, various assaults, domestic violence, robbery/theft, poop-smearing, convicted child molesters moving in with mommy/daddy/granny, hit-and-runs, illegals driving without license, and many more) that occur daily, many of them due to mommy's little repeat offender 35-year-old angel living in a so-called "55+ retirement community".

Would you be so kind as to direct us to the "right site"? Thanks!

This is data reported by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. I would assume that any arrests made by local police departments such as Wildwood would not be included, making the results not as accurate as they could be.

Yeah, without Wildwood this is going to be boring. It should include all of Florida then it would be interesting.
