Went to Ritters for the first time since they replaced Ollie’s in Spanish Plains Plaza. Definitely my last visit as I thought their Ice Cream was awful. (Was previously a regular Ollie’s customer)

It's not ice cream. Perhaps knowing the product you're buying would be a good first step into enjoyment. It's frozen custard.

Ollie's was also not ice cream. If you want great ice cream, the closest options to Ritter's is Kilwin's, and Publix (their Coconut Road premium is to die for).

Wow, I didn't realize that Ollie's was gone. They were our favorite for quite a long time, but in the last couple of years it hasn't been the same and we stopped going. So, from your assessment, I guess I don't have to rush back. Too bad, another "old Villages" thing is gone.

Sorry I wrote ice cream instead of custard. Ollie’s was excellent custard. When custard is icy it’s actually worse than ice cream. Thanks for your constructive criticism. Will never have to cross paths at Ritters. Hope you enjoy the icy custard and that you are not allergic to coconut.

YES to Kilwin's. A single scoop of any of their flavors is easily 1.5 times as big as is Haagen-dasz at Lake Sumter landing AND it costs less. My wife and I have a designated ice cream hole (whoever's tee shot is closest to the pin wins) and the payoff is always at Kilwin's. Traverse City Cherry for me, and Sea Salt - Caramel for her. She bought today.

I didn't have that experience with Ritters frozen custard. I had their chocolate, it was fine. I tried their italian ice and it was very slushy and not something I'd ever get again from them, though.

I'm not a fan of frozen custard. I prefer real ice cream.

Kilwins is frequently our bike ride destination, pistachio for my wife and the sugar free caramel swirl for me.
