What most people don’t know is how Amazon makes money. Most think that they make most of their money selling “stuff” on the Amazon website. Not true. Their overall sales are growing rapidly. But revenues from AWS, Amazon Web Services is growing even faster.

Amazon’s web services are the largest cloud infrastructure in the world. Their services are offered in 26 regions globally and have more than 200 services, ranging from core computing and storage to AI tools and low-code or no-code solutions for products and app developers. The contribution of AWS to the company’s overall revenue has consistently increased.

In 2022, about one-third of Amazon’s sales came from cloud-based services. Sales associated with their fast-growing Prime membership products and services are not separated in their financial statements. But a reasonable estimate is that Amazon’s sales of “stuff” is only about half of the company’s total sales.

We cannot fight what is or control what should be.

Amazon has changed our lives. My view they have gotten too big and should be busted.
Amazon launces their own delivery system and stock of all the carriers falls. What do they do?
With the aid of their computers Amazon delivers the most profitable to deliver and leaves the other stuff to whoever is lowest for that service. You a consumer if you **** by UPS or Fedex pay roughly twice what Amazon pays.

Small business is gone. We offer service? Amazon is cheaper. They come into the store and are displeased that the paid employee or owner refuses to take the time to show them how to use the product they bought from Amazon or other mail order discounter.

We are Amazon Prime members. Heck they even control and collet data on movies I choose to watch. Privacy perhaps same as small business, is a thing of the past.
