Do they all have the option that you can tell the TV to change channels, etc. with voice command?

We have a Smart TV.

Older firesticks may not but newer ones should.

My streaming service does not allow channel change/switch. We have a SmartTv but still use Firestick plugged into HDMI 1 which makes it portable when we return to Rhode Island we still have our Orlando stations ABC, Fox, CBS and CBS along with Ri, Ct and Ma stations set in favorites.
Not as easy as Comcast, Spectrum or Direct tv. But then again I only pay $150 annually for subscription.

Our Firestick has the option of voice commands. You push a button on the remote and speak into the remote. I think if you have an Alexa you can connect it to your Firestick and tell the Alexa to change channels... I may be wrong.

Is there any way you can record shows or set a schedule to record?

With the fire stick it all depends on the streaming service. Netflix, HBO, or Prime you don’t need to record since the shows are all on-demand (though they do expire). Hulu Live and YouTubeTV both have DVR capabilities

If you truly do have a smart tv why do you need a firestick? If your tv can download apps like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube tv, or hundreds of other apps, then you don’t need a firestick.
There is a need for recording shows over just streaming VOD. All shows are not necessarily kept online. A big 1 for us is the ability to fast forward thru commercials: VOD you can’t, but if you record the show you can.

What service are you using for only $150 a Year?

I have an LG TV and LG TV's App store is limited and doesn't have apps like ESPN. Firestick's on the other hand have many more apps including ESPN. Thus I need a $30 (one time cost) firestick.

I have had a firestick for a couple years and on the remote is a button that I can puch and tell "Alexa" what channel I want, and it changes to that channel immediately.

The Alexa Voice remote is not compatible with Fire TV Edition smart TVs.

It is only compatible with Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen and later), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube (1st Gen and later), and Fire TV (3rd Gen, Pendant Design).

Hope this helps!

We have an Amazon fire stick, and that changes channels when my grandson talks to it.
The lady program changer bl**dy hates me though, totally ignores me when I talk to her.

I love to lose the commercials. And I hate that the volume goes up for commercials. I remember about 10 years ago US lawmakers said that they were going to stop that jacking up of the commercial volume. Seems that once again our representative leaders have left us down.

I think they did pass a law, but it only applies to free over-the-air broadcasts, not cable or streaming TV. But, most people don't watch over-the-air broadcasts.

We have a Smart TV.

Why have a Fire Stick if you have a Smart TV? I hate anything Amazon makes (especially their Echo devices). Their devices are all about advertising & data collection. I have 5 TCL Smart TVs with Roku built in.
