I am curious as to why Properties of the Villages does not list the Model Name for pre-owned homes? We enjoy going through the open homes, getting ideas and familiarity of the layouts for the different models. Our dream home would be the Iris. The Gardenia Model stands out from the pictures, but then the Lantana, Lily, Iris have very similar floor plans, so it's difficult to tell what model I'm looking at from the pictures. Just like keeping an eye on the homes sales and curious if there is a reason why model names do not appear anywhere in pre-owned listings?

I think probably because they change the model names on new homes from time to time, so that the names in use now would not correspond to the older models.

I wondered the same thing, but also noticed that when a model is listed, it is generally a model name I'm not familiar with, as it had been discontinued or superceded by another. So I'm guessing if they did list the models, it would probably be more confusing than it already is . . . .

FYI I found that you can go to The Villages.com and click on New Home Gallery and at some point it shows ALL of the floor plans from old to new. You can kind of figure the plan out by looking at the front of homes. Hope this helps.

TheVillages.com New Home Gallery does not have all of the floor plans. It only shows the floor plans of new homes that The Villages currently has for sale. It does not list the plans for pre-owned homes that have been discontinued. The plans listed as new are the ones they introduced this year. My home was built less than a year ago but my floor plan is not listed because the style was discontinued.
As Sweetgirl points out, some of the models are very similar to others so you can't tell just by looking at them what they are. I don't know why they don't list the model names. Maybe they think it would be confusing because several of the models have had multiple names over the years with minor changes made to the floor plans.
