Ours is just not working for our TV, computer, etc.
Customer Service at T-Mobile said they will need to put in a help ticket and it may take a few days to fix.

I haven't had a bit of problem with T-Mobile since I fired them and switched to PureTalk!

They are having issues with T-Mobile internet not cell service.
T-Mobile internet is heavily dependent on wireless 5g signal at your home (5g cell, not 5g internet:)). Performance issues will be in one of two areas (or both):
1. Poor wireless signal from T-Mobile gateway to T-modem (cell signal)
2. Poor wireless signal from T-Mobile gateway to end devices (wifi signal)
Connect a computer directly to the T-Mobile gateway (ethernet jack), then go to a site called fast.com and see what your speed is. This eliminates the wifi side. If speed is poor (less than 50mbps) then try moving your modem around to see if you can improve it. It may just be location of the modem.
If you have a concrete home it will not work as well as a stick home - concrete tends to kill cell signal no matter who you are using. In this case the best location for the gateway is on a sill of a window.
If speed looks good when connected directly, disconnect and test speed via wifi. When the computer is close to the gateway, speed should be fairly close or equal to direct connect.

I tried the T-Mobile 5G home internet, and it was terrible. Slow and disconnects much of the time. Thankful that it was just a trial, and I was able to send the gateway modem back. Stayed with the reliable and fast Xfinity internet.

T-Mobile internet is very inconsistent.....download speeds all over the place and rarely never at advertised speeds. Spinning circle of death far too often during programming.....customer service stock answer (for weeks!) they are working on the tower.
The price is right. The internet service is not.

Same for me over a year ago. I could tell when the Turnpike was busy.
Unless they dedicate bandwidth to your modern, this will continue to be an issue.

We've had T Mobile internet here in Indiana for over a year and it works well. We also use it when we head to our home in TV. It works fine for us there too.
We had to move it around to a couple different windows to get the best signal, and it also depends on how close you are to a cell tower, since it uses those.
3 months ago we switched from Verizon to a T Mobile +55 phone plan and saved $80 a month. So far we like it. Overall their coverage may not be quite as good as Verizon but it works fine for us.

What kind of speed do you get when you run a speedtest?

5G internet at home depends a lot on the carrier’s 5G internet infrastructure such as antenna towers. In many bigger US cities, the infrastructure has been built. In The Villages, the 5G internet infrastructure has not been built in many places yet. I don’t live in an area with T-Mobile 5G internet service and use a traditional internet cable provider.

Also have T-Mobile home internet and yes the connectivity issue for me started Sunday evening. I called tech support a few times and found some helpful others not so much. Very difficult to get a straight answer on where the problem was.
On one call they said they were repairing a tower issue. Came back up to speed Thursday morning. Just ran a speed test at 266 mbps.

I don't understand why anyone would be happy with only 80-100 mbps internet that T-Mobil claims you might get. You must be thinking this thread is about cell service.

Coverage no, data breaches and SIM swamps yes. I wouldn't trust this Mickey Mouse company with by libary card number nevertheless SS number.
They have very poor IT security an deven when I wasn't a customer anymore the still seemed to leak my SS number now it's on the dark web according to Experian.
It's not worth saving a buck.

Because those speeds do everything we need to do for $50 a month.
Streaming has not been an issue.
My wife takes daily classes on her Peloton and it works great for that too. Steaming movies and sports are no probelm.
We also don't spend a lot of time on the internet. We're far to busy out having fun!

Ours has been flawless for the entire two years since we switched from Verizon — the best decision we ever made. I can’t even count how often Verizon failed and the switch to T-Mobile wi-fi was flawless and imperceptible, permitting us to use our iPhones and iPads. T-Mobile actually has wi-fi that’s almost twice as fast as Verizon. And it’s much cheaper, as well.
Why oh why didn’t we switch sooner?

T-Mobile home internet was so bad that I switched to Verizon and saved $25 per month.
I had long outages with T-Mobil last summer and I was told it was wildlife in the tower. The frequent outages continued and I switched to Verizon.
T-Mobile has faster download speeds than Verizon but Verizon has much better ping response than T-Mobile. The $25 per month requires autopay and Verizon cell service.
