If you are referring to the rather loud trucks at night, they are spraying insecticide.

These are fogger trucks, and they are spraying for mosquitos that come out at night. This has been going on for years here in TV.

If you are referring to the rather loud trucks at night, they are spraying insecticide. as a Boston kid in the 1940’s I remember summer nights running behind the trucks spraying DDT , it’s a wonder any of us ever lived

We used to pump that powder and spray all over our garden as well to kill bugs etc.
Even had the DDT strips hanging up in house to kill flies.
I also used to wet mix asbestos in a bucket to insulate boilers with at one of my many part time jobs.
As you say, "It is a wonder!"

True, we "country kids" had it sprayed directly ON us while picking raspberries and blackberries along he state highways (sure none of those around anymore, DDT ?). Have also been sprayed by "dusters", small planes spraying corn fields as we kids de-tasseled ! NOT pleasant !

Ah yes, I'm also shocked, a person asking a legitimate question, and they got by without a "lecture" from the judgmental elites....LOL... whose job it is to remind people daily what inferior intellects they have... usually never fails...LOL ! I think my favs this week concerned the folks whose son wanted a desk that had belonged to his grandfather and meant a great deal to him. While many kind people gave them some excellent information to check out concerning shipping options; there were those who chose instead, to lecture the poster about how their children don't want any sentimental family treasures, and suggested the poster should re-think complying at all. Sometimes it's amazing, what people ASK, and what they GET without even asking ! LOL !

Poison
Poison ? Really ? Now you know very well, LOL, that it's perfectly harmless, right, it's the villages, it's Sumter County, why "we" (country) would never poison our air, our water, our crops, our.... people....right... LOL, we are very environmentally aware here. And since I am in a sarcastic mood, it's a huge relief to have done away with all re-cycling (hey remember when that was the "in" thing ?) Back when MADE MONEY, now that it's not profitable, well, the heck with the environment, now we burn everything, absolutely everything, even the things they say NOT to but into the garbage, and no problem with the air, they "scrub" it carefully before we breath it.

Another interesting fact is at least here in Sumter county the fogging trucks are operated by Sumter County and not TV.

I’m getting these automated messages saying they are going to be spraying at least once a week and they don’t come. When I get the message I cover up my potted vegetables. Just wish they’d come or don’t come. I’ve called too. I guess they have a BUG in their system.

The job they do controlling the bugs here is phenomenal. We would not be playing golf or going to the square at night without it. We have always referred to the insect control as "Morse juice". It works!

Hmmm….I thought they were spraying snowbird repellant. It seems to be quite effective. There are less of them spotted every day.

Lived here since 1997 and every county (4) has had misquote control. By the way recycle was never profitable, only metal. My husband was in metal recycling for 30 years. Just about everything other than metal went to a landfill or was shipped to China. They dumped it in their landfills. The new recycling plant still separates the metal and incinerates the rest. What you believe was recycling has always been a lie. No money so what would be the point. Who would spend money for no profit?

There was an excellent video explaining how the trash and recyclables would be handled. Bottom line: seemed quite environmentally responsible at least to me. The metals were sent up to Fairless Hills PA to be melted and recycled wish I had saved the video

“Mosquitoes are the deadliest animals on Earth, killing 725,000 people a year and sickening millions of others.”
Don’t believe me, do some research. Besides malaria, mosquitoes can cause yellow fever and dengue to name a few. And it wasn’t that long ago that ago that Zika was responsible for babies being born with severe birth defects right here in the US.
Spray on.

Yes, and don’t forget the deadly West Nile virus. I know someone who had it and passed away unfortunately.

I'll vote for that, more Bats ! Less Malaria with the "foggers" hu ? And more Parkinson's or cancer perhaps, what a trade off. MORE BATS but NO Wuhan Labs run by the military !

Locations in every state went "recycle crazy", it became
fashionable to shame those who did not proclaim their dedication to save our earth. I totally agreed, there is much each of us can do. What's so confusing, is, when there is no profit to be made, SUDDENLY the "earth's condition" is of no further importance ! And the politicians of all parties "just can't understand how some voters are so cynical" ! Now we are on the new electrical kick, so those who actually like their gasoline powered autos, power tools, lawn mowers, etc. clearly have no moral compass ? LOL !

Mosquito spray usually between 930 and 10 at night and usually in your front yard and front house. They do not go behind houses.
