If CVDD says I have a leak and I don't who pays for the inspection, me or them? I'm pretty sure I know the answer but just asking. Also does an irrigation service do it or a plumber. Can't get thru to utilities co. on the phone, I guess everyone is having a "leak".

CVDD?

What district do you live in?

There is the Water Matters event happening at Lake Sumter Landing today. Both the CDDs and the Utilities are supposed to have booths there.

Try calling Customer Service, they can probably help.

Seems like every time we leave town, our water bill explodes. Never found a leak or a problem on our side. Once, with enough insistence, got them to send a tech. Their meter was out of "tolerance" and was over charging. They changed the meter. Still over charging, but "within tolerance". You can bet your first born they would accept no "tolerance" not in their favor.

I'm secretly drilling my own well. But don't tell anyone!

PS: Make no mistake, utilities are about making money first and foremost.

We had a leak over the weekend, I called Community Watch and they contacted the utility company emergency service.
Within a couple hours, an inspector was out here, dug up around the meter and discovered the leak.
It was on our side of the meter, but cost less than $100 the next day using Mike Scott Plumbing.
Overall, great service by The VIllages. That was about 3 years ago.

I can understand a faulty water meter but what can explain the meter knows when you are out of town ?
