I'm looking to purchase touch up paint for an exterior area but am having a hard time finding a matching color swatch. Swatches i took from home centers hoping to be a match are not close. I took a photo of the siding to be matched but seems home improvement centers cannot match color from photos. My home was built in 2008 and Florida paint only has home color information for homes built 2012 and up. Any suggestions as to where I could possibly find the original paint color specs?

Maybe contact the Villages warranty dept to ask if they can help?

This site (https://www.thevillageshomewarranty.com/product-search/) might help to find the original color.

Thanks. The site gave me almost all information about my home except the siding paint color.

OP, you will have another problem once you get the name of the correct color, this paint will have faded over the years, I have a neighbor that after several tries has not been able to get a match. IMHO, I would be prepared to paint the entire wall, and hope the color is close enough that you can stop at the corners. Also, if the paint store asks for a chip to match, ask how big the chip has to be, and if you have stucco, getting a suitable sized chip can be difficult. You will also need to match the finish of the paint, it appears that original paints were mostly a FLAT finish, we will be getting a satin finish when we get our house repainted.
I have no idea if any of the house painters offer a color matching service, but i am sure they will not paint a patch and will only paint an entire wall.
Hope this helps, and I wish you good luck with your project.

Thanks ! Im a former Pa resident also ! I wil probably buy a gallon of flat closest that I can match. It may be close enough where only I will be able to know. Thanks for your advice.

Bringing home a bunch of paint chips from a paint department and matching it to your wall is the best way in my book. But I agree with
'Tinker" that you're better off doing a whole wall. Good luck!

kevko...try to scape off a tiny piece and bring it to Ace, Lowes, or Sherwin Williams to match. The color could easily be matched when mixed. Pictures wouldn't cut it. Be aware that the sun could have faded the original color. You can also call the warranty dept. They can tell you the original paint color

If you can, peel off a chip from the house and bring it to the paint d department of Home Depot, Loews, Sherwyn Williams etc.. They can put it under the scope and analyze what color combos need to be mixed to make a matching paint.

I happened to have a piece of the trim in original color. Took it to Home Depot and they put it under their magic eye and came up with a formula that matched exactly. I asked if it was good to paint vinyl. He said that is what their "paint" was and 100% warranted. So far so good.

Go to florida paints. Give your lot number which is on your village id card. They have all the paints used on house. Easy!

Sorry. Just reread your post to end. Florida PAINTS won't work for you.

If you have Vinyl siding, it requires a special additive. Also wash the area with vinegar and water for proper paint adhesion
