We all probably know about the changes to CR 470.
I drove it yesterday from Sumterville to Leesburg and was surprised about how different it was. Even the overhead pictures and maps I viewed don't convey how foreign it all looks.
On the west side, the new section starts with a Circle that is roughly in line with old CR470 (near the cement factory -- prior to prisons). On the east side, it ends somewhere near the traffic light that went up last year for the construction traffic.
I started on the West side and by the time I merged with CR470 again, I was kinda confused about where it dumped me back out -- that is why I am guessing it is near where the traffic light is located.
The dump trucks and semis I saw used more than a lane through the circles and it wasn't pleasant. I wanted to drive the speed limit and take in the new housing and school views, but the trucks were having none of it. They were on my bumper.
For me, and I drive a lot, it was an unpleasant experience.
I am sure for anyone that relies on CR470 on a daily basis, it might also be unpleasant.
On the bright side, the work The Villages has done is amazing.
