We have birds nesting in our backyard, and everyday for months this one
loves to "attack" one of 6 Lanie screens.
Can anyone explain this weird behavior?

Birds will react to seeing their reflection. They view the reflection as an intruder especially in spring when they are protecting their nest and mates.

I wonder how to prevent that, seems like a lot of unless energy for so long.

looks like there is a window behind the screen, and indeed birds will attack their reflection.
online query has some suggestions, but somehow you'd need to make it clear to the bird that it's not another bird.
maybe a decal or something on the window?

So birds, like most other animals don’t have a sense of “self”. They don’t know that the reflection they see is themselves.
The human animal, some primates, Orcas, and Elephants have a sense of self.
To your issue, it looks like the bird is hanging on the screen of your lanai. Removing the screen will eliminate an area where the bird can hang and peck. It will sure tire and leave if it did not have a spot to rest. If screen can’t be removed, then finding a way to block the reflection is your best option. But on a big lanai window….ugh. It would be unsightly but cardboard or a towel. You could even soap the window……reapplying after a rain.
