We had Roberto's Flooring install LVP in our lanai today and we wanted to share our very positive experience with them. The gentlemen installing the flooring showed up a few minutes early (that was GREAT!), were extremely competent at what they were doing, worked very hard the whole time they were here, and checked with us on several items to make sure they were doing things EXACTLY like we wanted. We are yet another set of satisfied Roberto's Flooring customers.

Looks nice, I hope the product can handle humidity and occasional rain. I am in the process of tiling our lanai as a lot of the flooring products I looked at either had WOOD cores (cannot handle moisture) or finishes that could not handle the sunlight (fading), several specifically stated NOT FOR outdoor or areas subject to moisture and sun.

She said LVP - Luxury Vinyl plank. The stuff is basically waterproof. Maybe not quite as good as tile, but not as hard either. Roberto's is awesome, they do great work.

I am familiar with LVP, I installed around 1000 square feet in 2 bedrooms, 3 closets and a hallway, and would NOT use it in the enclosed lanai. The manufacturer indicated it was not rated for a lot of direct sunlight, it is 100% waterproof product, and would have worked very well but I was concerned about fading.
Unfortunately, the LVP designation has been applied to several products that have a WOOD core, and these tend to fail if exposed to a lot of water. I had some back up north, that I took a piece and submerged it in water for a week, it was fine, however this seems to be the exception.
On a side note the building department cautioned me on using ANY wood product on our current lanai project due to moisture coming up through the concrete. They continued with the cautions when I explained that the concrete was already sealed (aka stained) and there would be a vapor barrier. Therefore, this project is being tiled.
